There were plenty of tremendous performances last week as the Central Mass. baseball season got started, and Jim Wilson found some of the best of them for readers to vote on to decide the Hometeam Baseball Player of the Week.

These picks were selected from performances reported by area coaches to the Hometeam Scoreboard. Coaches or administrators are encouraged to report game results and highlights each night by calling the T&G sports desk at 508-793-9350 or emailing [email protected].

Adam Adams, Quabbin​


Adams struck out seven over three scoreless innings and added an RBI single as the visiting Panthers defeated Quaboag, 12-1.

Austin Brodeur, Bay Path​


Brodeur went 3 for 4 with four RBIs to lead Bay Path to an 11-1 win over Tantasqua.

Brady Coonan, Grafton​


Coonan collected two walks and hit a solo homer in the Gators’ 7-2 win over Acton-Boxborough.

Colton Corey, Littleton​


Corey collected two hits and four RBIs, delivering a three-run triple in the top of the sixth to lift the Tigers to an 8-6 win over Tahanto.

Shaun Dwyer, Worcester Academy​


Dwyer belted a grand slam in the bottom of the seventh as the Hilltoppers rallied from a five-run deficit to open the regular season with a home win. Teammate Talen Rosborough also hit a homer.

Austin Gibbons, St. Bernard’s​


Gibbons fanned 13 while tossing a two-hitter as the host Bernardians blanked Bartlett, 5-0.

Jeff Guzman, Oxford​


Guzman garnered homers and a total of seven RBIs in back-to-back wins for Oxford over Bay Path and Uxbridge.

Jack Monteiro, Assabet​


Monteiro mustered a 4-for-4 performance at the plate with two runs scored and three RBIs as the Aztecs won, 11-9, in a slugfest with the visitors from Nashoba Valley Tech.

Will Nason, Blackstone Valley​


Nason homered and collected three 3 RBIs on three hits to boost the visiting Beavers to a 15-3 victory over Sutton.

Jake Notaro, Clinton​


This senior went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and a run to help the Gaels garner an 11-1 victory over Fitchburg.

Nolan Remington, Oxford​


This senior pitcher allowed two hits and a walk over four innings while striking out nine and added a three-run homer at the plate to pace the host Pirates to a 15-0 beatdown of Bromfield. Remington then recorded a double and drove in two runs while fanning nine over five innings in a win over Uxbridge.

Chase Reyes, Auburn​


Reyes recorded a two-run homer to power the host Rockets to a 11-1 win over South.

Paul Savage, Tantasqua​


Savage was 2 for 4 and delivered a two-out, three-run double in the bottom of the seventh to help the host Warriors rally for a 6-5 walk-off win over Doherty.

Noah Smith, Hopedale​


Smith smacked a pair of homers and drove in four runs to propel the Blue Raiders to a 7-0 shutout of Sutton.

Dylan Trautner, Westborough​


Trautner belted a two-run homer in the top of the eighth as the visiting Rangers rallied to beat North Middlesex, 6-4, in the season opener for both teams.
