Jun. 18—GRAND FORKS — Jadyn Keeler's stellar career came to an end at the

NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.

last week.

But the UND senior isn't done collecting accolades.

Keeler was named the Summit League Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year for the second year in a row on Wednesday.

She made program history by placing sixth in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA championships this season, becoming the first Fighting Hawks track athlete to earn First Team All-American honors.

Keeler also finished 12th in the 5,000-meter race for Second Team All-American honors. With those two impressive finishes, she became the first three-time Division I outdoor track All-American in program history and the first Hawk to win two All-American honors at the same national meet.

Keeler's showing on the national stage wasn't surprising given her performance at the regional level and in conference play. She placed third at the NCAA West Preliminary in May and dominated at the Summit League Championships in Fargo, N.D., winning gold in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, the 5,000-meter run and the 10,000-meter run. Keeler set three school records this year.

The second Athlete of the Year award is just the latest accolade for Keeler. She'll end her collegiate career as a six-time Summit League champion, a three-time All-American and a two-time Summit League Track Championship MVP.

UND added some international talent this week.

Juliana Haddad, a 5-foot-10 forward from Espoo, Finland, will join the Hawks' 2026-27 roster.

Haddad played in 12 games as a sophomore at Northern Illinois this season, averaging 5.7 minutes.

Haddad's most productive outing came on the road against Iowa State on Dec. 7. She scored two points and tallied five rebounds in 22 minutes, shooting 1-for-4.

Haddad spent her freshman season at Eastern Florida State College. She played in 16 games, averaging 0.5 points and 1.9 rebounds.

Prior to college, Haddad played for Finland in the 2019 FIBA WU16 and 2022 FIBA WU18 European Championships.

Haddad is the fourth transfer portal addition UND has made this offseason. Aliyah Green, a 6-foot-1 forward, and Jayda Maves, a 5-foot-8 guard, both committed in late April.

Ciona Wells was the Hawks' first offseason addition. UND signed the 5-foot-7 guard from Western Oregon in early April.

The UND men's basketball team will be out of the country for Thanksgiving this year.

The Hawks are set to compete in the Cancun Challenge for the first time since 2024. The eight-team tournament tips off at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Mexico on Nov. 24-25.

There are currently six teams confirmed on the men's side. Detroit Mercy, UND, Northern Colorado and Southeastern Louisiana will play in the Mayan Division. Kennesaw State, UTEP and two unannounced teams will make up the Riviera Division.

The Hawks will play one cross-play game in the U.S. and two bracket games in Mexico.

The Cancun Challenge was established in 2005 as a women's basketball tournament. The men's side was introduced in 2008. Previous champions include Purdue, Kentucky and Illinois on the men's side.

The format has varied over the years. UND went 1-2 when it competed in 2024, beating Loyola Marymount while suffering losses to Bethune-Cookman and Southeastern Louisiana.

In addition to the Cancun Challenge, the Hawks will face two Big Sky teams in non-conference play this year. They'll travel to Montana State and host Montana.
