Mar. 24—GRAND FORKS — UND distance runner Jadyn Keeler has added another award to the growing list of accomplishments.
Following a senior season campaign littered with broken school records and Summit League championships, Keeler has been named the Summit League Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year, league officials announced on Monday.
Keeler collected her second straight Second Team All-America honor after taking 12th in the women's 5,000-meter run at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in a time of 15:40.81.
The Barrie, Ontario, native collected a second consecutive triple crown during competition at the Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships. She repeated as a gold medalist in the mile run (4:39.69), 3,000-meter run (9:19.62) and 5,000-meter run (15:56.90) to secure another trio of All-Summit League performances.
She closes her indoor track and field career as a two-time Second Team All-American, a six-time Summit League champion, a six-time Summit League Women's Track Peak Performer of the Week, a two-time Summit League Women's Track MVP and a two-time Summit League Women's Track Athlete of the Year.
North Dakota State's Zach McGlynn, a former Stephen-Argyle athlete, was named the Summit League Indoor Championship Field MVP after securing 18 points for the Bison, who won the team title.
McGlynn, a graduate senior, broke his own school record at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships in the heptathlon. He placed seventh to earn first team All-America honors.
Minnesota Crookston announced earlier this week the NCAA Division II program in the NSIC will add men's and women's track and field.
The programs will begin in the 2026-27 season, with Steve Krouse as head coach.
"We are very excited to add men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field to our sport offerings at the University of Minnesota Crookston," said UMC athletic director Stephanie Helgeson. "We have seen tremendous growth and success in our cross country program in the last seven years, and we believe we can see the same type of trajectory in men's and women's track and field. It also allows us to offer the most competitive environment we can for our cross country and track and field student-athletes."
Minnesota Crookston has added men's and women's cross country, trap, hockey, and men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field since 2019.
The programs build off the men's and women's cross country teams which were started in the fall of 2019. The men's and women's teams are each coming off their best season in program history in 2025, as the men's squad placed top five at the NSIC meet for the first time. The women's team also had their best finish at the NSIC Championship, placing seventh of 16 teams.
Mayville State's Sebastian Mizener, a junior from Ontario, was named the Frontier Conference Pitcher of the Week after throwing the Comets' first solo no-hitter since 2013.
Mizener threw a no-hitter at the Sanford Sports Complex in Sioux Falls, S.D., with a 2-0 shutout victory over Dakota State (S.D.).
He threw seven innings and recorded five strikeouts with no walks.
