The Georgia Bulldogs host the Athens Regional from Friday, May 29 to Monday, June 1. Georgia is the top seed in the Athens Regional, which also features No. 2 seed Boston College, No. 3 seed Liberty and No. 4 seed Long Island.

The Bulldogs are the No. 3 national seed and would host a super regional if they win the Athens Regional. Georgia has won 14 of 15 games entering the NCAA Tournament. UGA won both the SEC Tournament and SEC regular season.

"They're (Long Island) a good quality club," Georgia baseball manager Wes Johnson said about Long Island. "They're not going to be intimidated coming here. Offensively, they can hit, and they really run. I think they've got 139 or 140 stolen bases. Their guys will throw strikes and attack the strike zone.

"Moving through the regional, Boston College had a good year in the ACC. Liberty probably has one of the best number ones in the country. Their Friday night guy would be a number one in our league as well. Their club has players with 18 to 20 home runs, so again, another quality club with a high RPI. It's going to be a good regional."

Georgia is hosting a regional for the ninth time in school history. Last year, Georgia hosted a regional, but lost games to Duke and Oklahoma State after winning their opener to be eliminated. All regionals in the NCAA Tournament are double elimination.
