It has been an interesting offseason thus far for the USC baseball program. The Trojanshave lost a number of players to the transfer portal, including several standouts from this year’s super regional team.

As we like to say, however, the transfer portal giveth, and the transfer portal taketh. While the Trojans have lost some players to the portal, they have picked up quite a few transfer commitments as well.

USC has added three pitchers in the portal so far: Long Beach State’s Tyler Gebb, Kentucky’s Oliver Boone, and Indiana’s Anthony Gubitosi. At the plate, meanwhile, Andy Stankiewicz and company have brought in two players from Stanford in first baseman Brandon Larson and outfielder Ethan Hott. The Trojans also added former Texas Tech outfielder Jace Souza.

A month into the offseason, USC has seemingly lost more talent to the portal than it has added. However, Stankiewicz and his staff still have time to change that as they look to build off of this past season’s tournament run.
