Amen. Especially if they immediately start back-pedalling to make the cushion even bigger.I hope whoever our new DC is impresses US.
If I see the CP original greatest hits with the ginormus cushions given to the WR's I think I'll just brick my tv.

Todd Bowles, from everything I've heard on him from friends in Dallas and Miami, is a very respected coach. Very intelligent and great with his players. His players always play hard for him and love the guy.
He's not a fiery, rah-rah type of guy, but has about the same temperament and attentiveness as a Dick Lebeau. Very intellectual, film room kind of guy that notices the subtle nuances of his opponents and can make adjustments on the fly. Very detail oriented.
They said to expect a very complex and robust defensive playbook, but that he is not going to call a very aggressive game. They expect him to be more of a bend but don't break kind of DC. Has learned under Parcells and Nolan, Nolan generally being the more aggressive of the two. This past season, the Dolphins rushed 6 or more people only 30 times.
Had Dallas in the top 3 in interceptions during his tenure and had the Cleveland Browns lead the league in interceptions with 33 when he was their secondary coach. Cleveland was also ranked 5th in the league in pass defense allowing only 181 yards per game through the air.
All in all, would be a solid hire in my opinion. Would prefer a more aggressive approach but I think he could get this defense to be very respectable. Would still need to add some key pieces, mainly at rush LB.
Upon conclusion of his playing career, Bowles worked in the player personnel department of the Green Bay Packers from 1995-96.
I Dont know anything on Bowles. Any input guys.

My question for someone who knows this better then me. Do his Defensive backs give cushions typically or are they press guys?
IF we did hire him it would be interesting to see if he would call a Parcells 2 gap 3-4 system or a Nolan 1 Gap 3-4 system. He is a Parcells guy but saw the effectiveness that the Nolans 1 gap system brought to Miami as well as the attacking style of Dockett and Campbell. We currently run more of a 2 gap system and I would like to see us run more 1 gap stuff to better use Dockett and Campbells abilities.
That is a GREAT point, Joe! Could mean a great deal of difference.
We are going to have to raise your salary. Seriously.
Not until we have a new CBA.![]()
If we dont have a new CBA by March 4th I will lower my salary down to only $1.

Bump since so many forgot how close he was to being hired instead of Horton.
