So, any DC-related movie or project not related to Gunn's DCU is now placed in the Elseworlds category.

Films like Batman 2 with Pattinson, Joker 2 with Phoenix, Constantine 2 with Reeves, etc.

Which is hilarious because when Gunn was first onboard I think he was given a different impression. He even came out and said there would no longer be "multiples" of characters and talked about it being a cohesive universe from animation, TV to film.

Sure sounds like the studio pulled the rug out from under him which is why I am highly skeptical he pulls this off.

I wonder if Gunn has much say in the Elseworld universe. So far the Batman/Joker universes are helmed by “auteur”-ish directors who both are A-list directors at the top of their games who definitely seem to have their own visions and probably wouldn’t be too keen on Gunn’s interference.

I am thinking not but that wasn't the impression he got based on his early statements.

Following months of audition tapes and in-person screen tests, Warner Bros and DC Studios have their new Clark Kent and Lois Lane. David Corenswet has been set to play #Superman while Rachel Brosnahan are on board to play #LoisLane in James Gunn’s #SupermanLegacy. Link in bio for the full details.

think it's a smart move casting a relative unknown as Supes. Was never a fan of the baggage someone like Affleck brought to Batman. I couldn't unsee Ben Affleck in that role. Just too big for it.

Also, think it's smart surrounding him with more well known great actors. Brosnahan fits that bill. Really intrigued to see who else shakes out in this cast. Gotta assume whoever the baddie is will be the biggest name of the cast to give this movie some heft as it tries to make a splash in what's become a more shallow pool of superhero box office money by the movie.

Looks like the Skaarsgard brothers are both in the running for… Lex Luther… again.

That’s the first bit of Supes news that’s comes in a little lame for me. Not because of the casting necessarily. Both of those brothers are beasts on screen. But ANOTHER Lex Superman movie? When do we finally get to see a Brainiac?

He seems like a younger more affable Superman than the serious Superman we’ve been fed more recently. Not a fan of new Lois.

So far I'm not a fan of new Lois either. I think it's a recency bias. In my head I see her as Mrs. Maisel still, which she was amazing in, and that doesn't jive with Lois. I'm hoping that with a bit more time between the title that that will lessen.

I am more optimistic about her as Lois then him as Supes.

Heck, I was totally flummoxed with Michael Keaton announced as Batman back in the day. In hindsight, he was one of the better Batmen.

I still have comics from the Hawks! They were one of my favorites.

First good decision of I have seen out of Gunn. That also means he is likely leaning into the DC multiverse instead of going away from it or rebooting. Makes sense considering Joker 2 and Batman 2 coming as well. What remains to be seen is if he even acknowledges the events from the Flash.

I really don't get this "reboot"

At this point Gunn isn't saving DC. It's like sending a good player to the Browns and expecting them to still be good. ;)

I think this is an excellent idea by Gunn. Gal Gadot proved me completely wrong in the first WW, then Patty Jenkins showed she can't be trusted with the whole project with the second movie. Keep Gal and boot Jenkins if she can't handle not doing it all.
