I would argue that announcing it was going to be a PS exclusive didn't help matters one bit. I hope someone picks up the concept and tries again. It's a fantastic era of Star Wars to explore further.

My first thought is that it's cancelled because they are going to explore it through different media (i.e. a tv series).

There is a rumor that the reason you are hearing about XBOX exclusives headed to PS5 is because Microsoft is going to exit the video game hardware business. Instead focusing on their XBOX GAME PASS business for multiple platforms along with their game software business.
