Hall of Famer
The running back room is a bit crowded now. What do the Cards do with it? How many do they keep? Who goes to the practice squad? Can they trade any of them? Inquiring minds want to know.

We signed Allgeier in free agency, not a trade, just a heads up.Keep Love - obviously since he has a guaranteed $50M
Keep Allgeier - obviously since you traded for him
Keep Conner - leadership
Trade Benson - can't stay healthy and never really cared for his running style in the NFL
Keep Knight - love me some BAM
Keep Kiner - need RB depth for camp
why would we get rid of benson - not gonna happen
You're not getting any draft capital for Benson.Keep Love - obviously since he has a guaranteed $50M

Anyways, I say you start shopping everyone who isn't Love for picks this weekend, with it being the least likely you ship out Allgeier. Conner might get a nibble from someone, at which point I guess you keep Benson as RB #3 for now, and see if he'll play special teams.
Knight's got an edge to staying on the roster because he'll play special teams, Kiner's got no shot. I don't dislike Conner as a person or player, but I think he kinda offers us the least at the moment, so I'd keep Benson if I was keeping 4 RBs. But I wouldn't be against keeping Conner and saying bye to Benson.
Oops, you're right on Allgeier. Either way, I'm for keeping him to bang into brick walls near the goal line. I'm with you on Conner. At the end of the day, I can't stand Benson dancing around in the back field. He was better this past year before his injury but in the NFL, you don't have time to do that.We signed Allgeier in free agency, not a trade, just a heads up.

People did not like that observation I bet.I said when he was drafted that Benson didn’t look special at all in his college highlights. He’s a JAG but a cheap one at least.
Look at cost, saving and special teams. That will determine who stays.Keep Love - obviously since he has a guaranteed $50M

Totally disagree. Saw every game as my wife is an FSU grad.I said when he was drafted that Benson didn’t look special at all in his college highlights. He’s a JAG but a cheap one at least.
Thought he was explosive but stiff. He just doesn’t have much wiggle.Totally disagree. Saw every game as my wife is an FSU grad.
He's old and injured. Unless he's really had a perfect recovery, I'm not sure his leadership is all that important, especially as a third string RB. I'm not calling him chopped liver, but still.Conner is old so there's that but in terms of impact on Love and on the team I think Conner offers lots. He's just a great guy and a great teammate who can help Love
he costs next to nothing and if he's healthy, as a third down back or back-up, I don't see a reason to cut him.Benson won’t get touches. Still I’d keep him if injuries okay. They’ll lose a back or 2 along the way. I still believe he can play in this league.
