Played in an era where brutal pass defense was not only allowed but encouraged. The NFL never changed rules to benefit him. He never cheated...and through all that he managed to keep a Hall of Famer on the bench for years.

There really is no comparison between the two.

both short routes are well short of what you need .. but thats okay if you can hit those players going upfield in space

of course, both have their backs turned to where they need to go and in the NFL, the time it takes to catch and turn around give a zone defense enough time to close and tackle quickly.

Watching the 49ers -- many of their short routes are ones where the player thrown to while heading upfield

In the above pic -- I like Dortch's chances if he caught that ball at least in motion angling up field. He is def shifty enough to make one guy miss and get the yardage.

Haha, I'll tell him you said so. He'll get a kick out of that. He's definitely not on meth. He has a love/hate relationship with his team this year, saw it as a trap game, and foolishly bet on the Cards. I warned him not to, but what can you do.

You can’t win without a serviceable QB and an OL. Exhibit A: Arizona Cardinals over past 7 years. We have neither. We’ve seen enough of Kyler to know we’ll never win with him as QB1. If the OL is fortified through the draft and free agency, maybe JB could get us to (or near) the playoffs. But we need a QB who’s 6-3 to 6-5 and gets the ball out quick and accurately. He needs to play behind a much better OL that will keep him upright. If the OL is improved substantially and our RBs stay healthy next year, maybe JB gives us the time to develop a QB1. We cannot pass 45-50 times a game and expect to win consistently. And who do we fault for the mess we’re in: Monty the GM, head coach, OC, line coach? The whole lot of them? I’ve liked Monty’s drafts, so I’m good there. I’m concerned about all the injuries. You can’t plan for your RB1 to break his leg, but you can ensure the backups are adequate. Seems to me there has to be structural changes within the organization — at QB, OL and coaching staff. I’m an old guy and I’m plenty tired of saying “We’ll be better next year.”
