The Seattle Seahawks are committed to making Rashid Shaheed a more integral part of their offense next season, which primes him to have a big year in 2026.
According to The Athletic’s Saad Yousuf, Shaheed is the breakout player to watch for the Seahawks next season.
”Shaheed has established himself as an electric returner, but he hasn’t hit his potential as a wide receiver,” Yousuf said. “In his four NFL seasons, he’s never had 60 catches or 1,000 yards receiving in a campaign. New offensive coordinator Brian Fleury is taking over after seven years in San Francisco under Kyle Shanahan, where he’s seen how dynamic weapons can be maximized.”
Shaheed recorded 687 receiving yards last season and has the chance to top that in 2026. Though Seahawks star WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba demands a great amount of targets in the offense, the team’s intent to increase Shaheed’s role indicates that more snaps will be available for him, and more plays will be drawn up to get him the ball. A big year appears to be on the horizon for the speedster.
