We also missed on Jurgens last year and didn't get AVT or Slater the year before. We missed on good players because we weren't aggressive.
You can't be "aggressive" when the roster is bereft of talent and desperately needs more fliers than it does to mortgage the future for one or two guys.

I am pretty sure Hopkins would be gone if we could get a 2nd for him.
Exactly. Getting 8-9 million in cap space and a fifth year of controlled salary AND a better center/guard ain't nothing. Hopefully they get a 2024 pick but it is a win-win. You have to be realistic about what you can get for DHop. It is a buyers market with his high salary and only wanting to go certain places.

I’d prefer that if we trade with Tennessee that we pair that second rd pick (41) and Hop for 22. 3 picks in the top 34 would be a good start on a rebuild. I also would think one of those 3 picks could very well be a WR.

So wait . We are giving them Hopkins AND our #34 pick for their 22?
No thanks. Maybe our 3rd pick.
The #34 could be valuable on day two.
Exactly. If they want they can then trade down from there and recoup and turn 34 into 39 and 63 and something.

Hell #34 could be traded for a future 1st.

And they get hop.

Is the player you get at 22 that much better than the one you can get at 34? I don't think so. We better get another pick in this deal.

Put names on the prospects available at 20 or so and those likely to fall out of the first round, and then there's something to debate.

At 22, we could have a plug-and-play D-lineman or starting CB.

Mahomes isn't on our team because moving up 1-3 spots for QBs with tons of warts (at the time) for the cost of a future first round pick and maybe more would have gotten the team absolutely eviscerated by the fanbase. And would have been decried as one of the dumbest moves this franchise has ever made if Mahomes didn't develop in AZ like he did under Andy Reid.
Ugh.

Most likely not real, but he is a local sports blogger in Philly.

They have a lot of draft capital from the bears trade.. I’d take a lot of that!

#12, 33 and one of their two first rounders next year would be a great haul.

You and anyone disagreeing with that take over the years is just playing revisionist history.

The irony now is that all of the voices who were saying the same thing about moving up for Watson in lockstep with the "we should have traded up for Mahomes" crowd are now silent.

And most of ya'll were like "oh man it'd be a huge mistake to take a QB this year, next year's QBs are so much better!"

Funny enough, I was on record as wanting to take Mahomes or Watson that year and was told it was a bad take.

No chance in hell. None. This would imply that either D-Hop has negative trade value or that the Titans are including 2 first and 2nd round picks.

It better be a LOT more. Like, maybe a 2nd and 3rd this year, 2nd and 2 firsts, something like that. If we're passing back DHop and we get like a 2nd round pick and a 2024 3rd to move all the way back to 11, I'm gonna be so grumpy.
