Tennessee baseball signee Cody Boshell was picked in the 11th round of the 2026 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the No. 326 overall pick on July 12.
Boshell, who hails from St. Johns, Florida, entered the draft ranked by ESPN as the No. 142 prospect. He is a first baseman and left-handed pitcher but was drafted as a first baseman.
Boshell was the fifth Tennessee signee selected in this year's draft. Two-way prospect Jared Grindlinger was taken No. 12 overall (Los Angeles Angels), outfielder Trevor Condon was picked No. 13 overall (St. Louis Cardinals), pitcher Kaiden McCarthy went No. 48 overall (Atlanta Braves) and pitcher Tyler Putnam was the No. 136 overall pick (Colorado Rockies).
Boshell had been committed to Tennessee since August 2022 and signed with the Vols this past November.
In four years at Bishop Snyder High School, Boshell hit .318 with 17 home runs and 72 RBIs. In 156.1 innings on the mound, the lefty had an ERA of 3.36 with 231 strikeouts.
