Tennessee (21-10, 11-7 SEC) will open postseason basketball play on Thursday in the SEC Tournament at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

After a first-round BYE, the Vols will face No. 12 seed Auburn (17-15, 7-11 SEC) on Thursday in the second round. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. EDT and the contest will be televised by SEC Network.

Following college basketball games on Wednesday, Joe Lunardi of ESPN released updated bracketology projections for the NCAA Tournament.

Lunardi projects the Vols as a No. 5 seed in Portland, Oregon. Tennessee is projected to face No. 12 seed Northern Iowa in the first round. The winner would advance to play either No. 4 seed Kansas or No. 13 seed Sam Houston in the second round.

Lunardi projects Auburn as the last team in the NCAA Tournament ahead of playing Tennessee.

The NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced March 15 on Selection Sunday (6 p.m. EDT, CBS).
