Tennessee (21-10, 11-7 SEC) basketball will next play on Thursday in the SEC Tournament. The Vols have a first-round BYE on Wednesday.
Tennessee will face the winner between No. 12 seed Auburn (16-15, 7-11 SEC) and No. 13 seed Mississippi State (13-18, 5-13 SEC) at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The Vols are a five seed.
Following college basketball games on Monday, Joe Lunardi of ESPN released updated bracketology projections for the NCAA Tournament.
Lunardi projects the Vols as a No. 5 seed in Portland, Oregon. Tennessee is projected to face No. 12 seed Northern Iowa in the first round. The winner would advance to play either No. 4 seed Gonzaga or No. 13 seed Utah Valley in the second round.
The NCAA Tournament bracket will be announced March 15 on Selection Sunday (6 p.m. EDT, CBS).
Tennessee advanced to the Elite Eight in its last two NCAA Tournament appearances.
