Gillespie has been our best player lately. Dillon second.

Book has been double teamed everywhere and Gillespie and Royce make them pay.

Another thing that this road trip has done is get us Rex Chapman on color. I was a little leery of him in that first Pelicans game, but he's become fire. He feels more like a fan doing color, moreso than Eddie. Much better than Annie, by a lot. I hope they keep him as the sub when Eddie is out.

Richards didn't have a flashy game but I liked his contributions today. There was one play where Goodwin and I think Gillespie were pinging the ball back and forth and Richards kept trying to come out to set a screen but didn't know who to set it for. Could have easily been frustrated and half-assed it but still ended up with a solid screen and roll to the basket. Doing the dirty work out there.

Richards looked lighter lost some weight. Just like Grayson and Oneal, think Ott told them to get in shape if you want to play

He’s too monotone for me. But he’s definitely more like a fan. He complains about refs a LOT more than Eddie. I’m okay with it. But he’s much a homer than Eddie in the statements he makes. His commentary is more biased. I know Eddie considers the suns “his team” but he doesn’t make that blatantly obvious on the games he calls like most teams color guys. Rex is more the norm. Eddie is the standard imo.

I can see that. Eddie is good at both explaining yes that is a foul when a Sun complains about a call when they fouled and when it is a 50/50 call. The only time he really calls out the officiating is when it’s very egregious.

He’s also really good about pointing out on players that the suns need to do this or that if they get scored on

The alternative is Annie, so... to each his own. She is an encyclopedia of knowledge, but just isn't a good color commentator.

He's alright, but quite the homer. It's a bit annoying to have the color guy calling for and disputing every foul or non-foul call. I'd rather hear more insight about the schemes and behind the scenes info. His use of "we" and "us" feels off too. I'm sure he'll dial in though.

All respect to Annie and her accomplishments but I would take Rex as her replacement. EJ and Rex would be an upgrade manning all the color commentary. Kevin "Boom Room" Ray has become a solid play by play guy.

i think ej can do the play by play
eh. I disagree and X gets the square. :p Play by play is a specialized skill that takes years of practice and experience. You can't just throw a former player into it. There haven't been too many former players that have become lead play by play guys. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Hot Rod Hundley for the Jazz.
