Does anyone else find it bizarre that the National Media narrative about KD never changes, but yet you talk to Golden State, Brooklyn and now Phoenix fans, the narrative is far more negative and very similar? That is fascinating and it will be interesting how KD changes the Rockets' style of play, which we know is inevitable.

It is bizarre. I'd understand it better if he didn't have stints in Golden State and Brooklyn but you'd think the attention he garnered there would have changed the narrative but it didn't, at all.

Houston is learning quick who KD is. Thankfully whatever hand surgery he needed didn't stop the deal. Perhaps his health was used as leverage to sort of dictate his landing spot. If the Suns wanted to take the Minnesota deal, he reveals the surgery and that lowers interest?

I don't care much about him smoking pot in public though, I believe the surgery is the bigger story. The pot just confirms what we all suspected.

Good luck to him and the Rockets. We have our work cut out for us just getting to the playoffs. Hope they can compete with Denver and OKC. I have no bad blood with KD, and wish him nothing but the best.

Same thing for Bradley Beal. I hope he has success wherever he goes. All the best.

Go Suns.

Suns Tried To Trade Kevin Durant To Timberwolves For Rudy Gobert, Donte DiVincenzo

The Phoenix Suns tried to trade Kevin Durant to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Rudy Gobert and Donte DiVincenzo, according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN.

Talks faded after the Timberwolves learned Durant didn’t want to play for them.

The Suns wound up trading Durant to the Houston Rockets

I suspect you'll find that OKC fans hate him more than all the others.

I have little doubt that within a couple years Rocket fans will hate him as well... while the broader NBA fan base will still grant him every reprieve.

You really have to watch him quite a bit to realize how subversive he can be... and I think it's honestly a reflection of how unselfaware he is. He just doesn't get it, he wants to "hoop" and have fun, he does want to win... but only so far as it doesn't get in the way of his "hooping". The result has been a long list of fired coaches and the bailing from one team to the next as soon as adversity flairs up.

Adversity is for non-hoopers. If someone counters your view you either get them fired, demand a trade or use a burner account to trash them.

I think it's telling that no former teammates take up for him. Almost all stars have role players or bench guys who talk up their best player. You hear regarding LeBron and Steph regularly. It's telling how much silence there is from KD's former teammates.

F - Beal - that trade never made sense and will be a stain on Ish until he wins. The KD trade bidding against himself was just as bad. They need to get a PG, Phx has never been good w/o a legit PG. Book ain't it

We should find out how good Gillespie can be this season.

Thanks for this - you did a great explanation of him - which goes along with his laziness and lack of care handling the ball, etc.

Yep, from afar, he looks incredible. But once you get him on your team, you see all his faults and anti-team tendencies.
