If you're like me and haven't really seen much of Williams, here's a post ASB highlight package from last year:

An I just say I love that he wants to dunk everything.

Between Mark Williams, maluach, and green we are going to be seeing massively more dunks than last seasons earthbound team. If someone can pass it to them.

My only concern is my suspicion the Suns agreed to trade for Williams before Maluach fell to them.

A guy who’s missed more games than he’s played failing a physical is not interesting and neither is an agent protecting his client. He’s the Bradley Beal of centers.
Except he only makes 6 million so he doesn’t hamstring the team in any way. If Beal only made 6 million he would be pretty valuable.

So who do they target tomorrow with their two second rounders? I have to assume PF and (maybe) PG, but not sure what kind of shots in the dark look good there.

This move just reiterates to me how inept this front office is. Happy with Maluach but its erased by moments later reinforcing the incompetence up top.

What is incompetent about trading 2 late first round picks for a 23 year old 15 and 10 center? I understand having reservations about is health, but not sure how it reinforces the incompetence up top. I’m not saying that they aren’t, I’m just saying that this trade certainly isn’t an example of it.

Not sure how much it would have mattered. Maluach is very raw and you probably don’t want him to play more than 20ish minutes a game. I think the Williams trade is more of an indictment on Richards in that they didn’t think he was a good enough starter.

Point guard Ryan Nembhard might be available at #52.

The Hornets are always tanking. I wonder how many games he missed for tanking purposes.

We traded the 29th pick and a pick that will probably be in the late 20s in a few years.

The concerns are, obviously, the injuries and that this is a contract year. Trying to weigh what kind of money to offer to a guy that cannot stay healthy is problematic. Even if he stays healthy this year, how can you trust it?

We need lots of bites at the apple, so I like having picks, but, if we're going to not suck over the next several years, we gotta score on some undervalued guys and if Williams can ever just... not get hurt all the time, he's a solid player.

I think you might be confusing Proximo with Phrazbit.
Oy, I think I do that with the two of them often. Apologies guys.

No worries, it happens on a forum this active. Because I was not responded to I didn't even catch these posts until checking back this morning when catching back up on the thread. There was some other poster with who I used to confused with cheesebeef now and then, they either went inactive or changed their name. Not too many posters with "clown" in their title though.

I still have a Kevin Kolb avatar because I know if I switch this goofy thing it will confuse people... also, I think it's kinda funny.

That said, I have a lot of strong opinions, but I don't have one here. The picks we gave up are likely to be trivial, Williams is cheap for a reason, he can't stay healthy, but we have put ourselves in such a hole that we need to take some low cost gambles.

Relatively low risk, potentially high reward, as I said in the previous post, my belly aching will really start when we have to decide about an extension. You don't want to get locked into guys who can't stay on the court. (speaking of Kevin Kolb)

One thing I know after watching highlights of our two new centers. There is going to be way more dunks coming from the center position this upcoming season.

Listening to Bob Meyers talk just shows how dumb this front office is. “Center is the easiest position to play off the court we see it over and over in the playoffs don’t over value it”

We just spent 3 1st on 2 centers that can’t switch and guard the perimeter but deeerrrr dunks!!! Keep in mind we have no one to actually pass them the balls. We gonna try point Book again? Hell who’s gonna pass to all our shooting guards?

I like our pick great pick awesome

2 1st for a guy who’s never played more than 44 games in the last year of his contract? We desperately need assets and flexibility but nope. Just shows this might be the worst front office in basketball now like some in media have been calling it

So don't get any new centers? Commit to Richards and Oso? C'mon we needed to upgrade in that area and we did so with relative low cost.

You keep ignoring the fact that those 2 1sts are LATE firsts with not much difference to early 2nds. Other than the fact that 1st round picks have guaranteed contracts.

I don't think anyone really has an issue with Malauch - it's the Williams deal that is stupid.

Mark Williams is younger than Creighton center, Ryan Kalkbrenner who many wanted the Suns to draft at 29.
Nobody wanted the suns to draft a center after they got one at 10.
