How are we going to move Beal or Grayson without draft comp to dump some salary and also get under the 2nd apron and somehow get a useful PF in the deals?

If we can't dump salary forget any free agents beyond the min.

It might have been possible with those 2 week firsts, certainly more possible than the bunch of seconds we have.

There is one answer to all our problems - trade Booker, I just don't think they are willing to do it.
They have been on the phone about Beal I am sure and at least have an idea what it will take to move him. For all we know they are using their draft capital because they will buy him out or because they have given up on moving him and will keep him.

Ok so you are right it’s not a massive or big upgrade. We mildly upgraded center. We are not better than trash.

Until something is done with his contract he’s here and that means he’s part of our future because a lot of what we can do is based on him and his contract. He’s here like it or not.

Oh I’m short sighted oh ok not the front office but me huh.

This is a 30 win team wow
Is that compared to the 36 wins we got last season? Are you saying we will be worse?

I'd prefer we bring back Plumlee. I think he has more to offer in huddles and practice than Richards. Ultimately either would see very limited minutes and the gap between what they might produce is negligible.

I much prefer Richards to Plumlee, but I'm not against bringing him as a depth center if there is room.

I prefer Richards to Plumlee in a vacuum but lean Plumlee after adding Maluach and Williams. What Richards offers isn't that different from them so variety is more what I'd prefer from a 3rd string option. Plus Plumlee has a fire that is needed.

I can definitely see your point.

If they traded 5 second round picks for Williams cool, I’d they traded 29 for Williams cool. If they traded 29, 3 2nd rounders for Williams cool

It’s the future 1. Like dude we are so strapped for assets. Good teams are hoarding them and we are giving them away like no one else in the NBA
They are bottom of the draft assets not worth all this

I think it’s very clear we are gonna be worse. Should be pretty obvious
What about the power forward we just got, Rasheer Flemming? Flemming was projected to go in the top 20, and we picked up that level of talent at 31. How many wins does that add to the 30?

Zero. Other teams are also improving in the draft. How often does a player projected in the late teens move the needle?

The Suns are going to struggle to put a roster together, but this was inevitable. It's also not much different from the last couple of years. Two years ago, this board was penciling in Krista Yamaguchi, or whatever his name was, for 25 minutes a game. The other big acquisitions were Eric Gordon and Kinda Beats-Off. The front office willingly entered salary cap hell with the Durant and Beal trades, and there's no quick way out. We're going to have to be really patient, and try to find the value in any move that might pay off a few years down the road.

Those names are top notch. What's sad is I know each one you mention. I hope your interest in the Suns grows so we get more comments like this. Absolute gold.

I just looked at the roster that year but I totally forgot about him. He was shooting 60% corner 3s for the Nets when the Suns traded for him, then his shot totally vanished.

This team has sow defensive dogs. It will be fun to watch. We are in salary cap hell. The only reasonable way out is to wait it out. Maybe the can flip a sg for a decent pg and build the young talent that they have.

And you could trade Booker. Actually. I wouldn't be totally against it. Why not do it before he demands it and tries to pick his own team.

A couple people here noted you do need veterans to guide the young guys. If, and it's a phenomenal if, they get rid of Beal, all you really have left is Booker and Brooks as the veteran leaders.

And Grayson and Royce.

I like Booker and Royce as veterans but Grayson is likely to be distracted still with an infant at home. Brooks isn't who you want to be a teacher. I think Royce is too soft spoken, from what I've seen. Good locker room and rotation guy but don't see him a mentor or teacher. Not a negative though.

The word on the street is possibly bot Allen and Oneall will be traded to get under the second apron, and get assets in return.

I guess after Luka got traded this year, anything is possible. Booker could be traded, but everyone in the Suns front office keeps saying Booker is the only one that is safe from being traded.

Other guys are seasoned too. There can be different types of headship that guys like Williams, Richards, Martin, Allen and O’Neal can provide.

On the court and in the gym, that falls in Book and Brooks.
