Who is the guy available out there that we have a chance at still, that is better than Grayson Allen - or worth 5 years of 20 million of dead cap. I don't think that person exists, because even if the player exists, we would be about 10th choice at best for that player.

It's more about the Suns getting below the second tax apron so they can make other moves if they so choose.

For example, the Suns might want to get below the second tax apron so they could add a higher salaried power forward or point guard.

Also, to use the exceptions.

Call me crazy but I think Beal in terms of production he can bring a team is pretty close to equal to Lebron at this point.
what? no. Beal doesn't come close to LeBron being able to still run an offense, rebounding or even scoring. I know you loathe the Lakers to the point of complete lack of objectivity, but this is a bizarre take, dude.

The Suns have received calls on Nick Richards, including apparently the Lakers.

right? are these people random suns and clippers fans?
Its being floated in the media. The reason I think is because there are rumblings that LeBron might want out. Also, people are looking at every possible workable trade scenario for Beal.

And its summer. So speculation is what fans do.

HOnestly, I think the biggest obstacle to the trade is getting Beal's approval. I doubt he wants to play with Luka either.

if LeBron wants out, they're going to be able to fetch a package much better than the worst contract in the NBA and a guy who's now looked at as someone who doesn't really care about playing basketball.

If LeBron wants out, he is going to go where he wants to go, or the Lakers are going to have to keep him.

Question:

We’ve talked at length about moving Beal anymore of way to get under the apron. What if we did the waive and stretch with Grayson Allen instead? I know he has value but it would be a similar salary if we traded him I assume. Would that get us below the apron?

The salary would have to match so the only thing the Lakers could offer is picks along with it. The Lakers are not going to give up anything valuable in terms of picks for Richards. I would rather keep him as insurance for a Williams injury. Now if the Lakers want to do something stupid and throw in a 1st? OK you have to consider it I guess. I just don't see them doing that.

I think so. They'd need to dump Richards, but I think it would be enough. However, he has three years left on his contract so the Suns would have dead cap for seven years. They would be better off trading him for nothing to a team that has cap space.

OK. I know this doesn't technically go here but I had to include it. It was in another Suns group. Thought it was hilarious.

they keepin deandre awAyton to be signed
When Ayton posted on social media he will be snatched up in an hour, I thought he lacks humility as usual. I apologize. It's possible his perception of what an hour means might be as skewed as his view of himself.

Ayton gets one year, $34 million from the Lakers.

For those that did a double take like I did, this is combining his buyout amount from Portland (25.6M) and his salary this year which is part of a 2 year deal (1+player option) for 16.6M
