If the Suns owned a 2027 first round pick, they could trade the 2026 first round pick, but as of now they don't.

I'm just trying to put the pieces together like everyone else.

I'm getting confusing info about what picks they still own. What source do you use?

I was listening to Gambo the other day when I thought he said the Suns had a first round pick and a second round pick without further clarification.

I've been wondering if they were tradable assets, because the Suns have to have more first round picks because of the Stepien Rule.

The 2026 pick is the one that confuses me the most but I saw someone on reddit break it down.

From what I gather

2026 - No first.

2027- Multi-swap 1st from Utah(from the 2031 unprotected trade last year).

2028- Multi-swap 1st from the Durant and Beal Trades.

2029- Multi-swap 1st from Utah(from the 2031 unprotected trade last year).

2030- Multi-swap 1st from the Durant and Beal Trades.

2031- No first

2032- First is frozen

Correction the 2029 was the pick sent for Williams so no first there.

If correct, the Suns should be able to trade a first round pick from 2028 or 2029.

.
I’m guessing that they haven’t been able to trade the 2026 draft pick based on the rule that they can’t trade two years in a row. He might be talking about that since it’s a new league year, They may be able to trade it now.

That’s my assumption and I’m not stating a fact
.
2026 - no 1st
2027 - least favorable 1st between 3 teams
2028 - least favorable 1st between 3 teams
2029 - no 1st
2030 - least favorable swap between 3 teams
2031 - no 1st

At this point we have no tradable 1st’s.

Nah, I forgot about the 2029 pick going out in the Mark Williams trade. They can't trade any fists as without acquiring some.

Yeah, that messes everything up unless the Suns can acquire another first round pick somewhere.

Liked Cody Martin a lot more than Allen and Beal last year. He will probably get picked up.
Well that is just stupid. Allen and Beal were far superior. The level of hate for these guys is outrageous. Grayson was great under Frank - the hostility towards him for having a bit of an off year is totally unwarranted. I also don't understand the Beal hatred. It's like the fans feel like they are paying his contract or something. I would actually be all for keeping him if we hadn't traded for Green.

Cody Martin is a poor man's Okogie. There is no reason to miss him. If we can't find someone to replace that level of player we have very big problems.

Why the hell would you want them to.

Do you really want no picks till 2032? It is insane we have as few as we do already.

The press release says the Suns go their 2029 2nd back from Charlotte in the Williams trade. I don't believe that was previously reported.

Well that makes the deal closer to just the 29th pick in this years draft since that 2nd is likely to be quite a high one.

Tells me Charlotte really wanted to get rid of Williams - which scares me.

We actually may have traded that pick to get up to 31. I haven't seen a reliable break down of what picks we have still.

They had traded him and had to take him back. The Lakers created a very difficult situation for them.

I guess you missed part of the discussion.

You do know the Suns are doing nothing right? Only possible thing that could happen - and it is very unlikely is a CP3 or Tyus Jones signing.
Unlikely that the Suns are doing nothing.
