Here is a player comparison that I rolled my eyes at. On my previous Suns forum, which I still read even though I will never again post there, someone has started comparing Grayson Allen to Dan Majerle. I seriously doubt this. It honestly sounds kind of like the facile and superficial Steve Nash-John Stockton comparison that we endlessly used to hear during the Nash era. "Nash is, like, a point guard who, like makes lots of assists; therefore he is, like, totally similar to John Stockton." Allen is not as big or strong as Majerle; Allen doesn't usually play a forward position, at least not this season. But someone has decided they must be similar because they both shoot lotsa three-point shots.

Simmons did his power rankings and had us at 16.

He still thinks this start is a fluke.

The suns could slide backwards at any point but so far, they have played much better than the 16th best team. Simmons is either not watching, and or has a biased view based on pre-season expectations. They have certainly played like a top 10 team.

Well, it's a lot better than worst defensive team in the league he had us as to start the season. Man, was he and his team wrong.

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Would we play him next to Williams? Would he replace Oso as our primary backup?

I don't see it happening but he can play stretch 4. He did for years in Indiana next to Turner. It would help our rebounding immensely as Sabonis is a walking double double.

I love Sabonis. He rebounds, and can score in a variety of ways. I am not sure how he fits into the current system/ culture. I don't think he is lazy, but I don't think he is a crazy hustle guy either, so I am really not sure. I'd trust Gregory and Ott on this one.

Allen is more like Danny Ainge than Dan Majerle

I have always liked Sabonis and really wanted to draft him, but I am not sure he fits with our present situation. And Oh SSTEf just said that.

The only deal I see capwise that would work would be Green, ONeale, and Richards for Sabonis.

I don't know what to think of that. Green could be our Booker of the future. He is 23 and wants to be here. Sabonis is 29. I think I would want picks back and most would think that is silly to ask that.

I'm sure - I hate it.

Better not be truth to it. Sabonis is not that good and too old for a team like ours.

I would much rather keep the two 23 year olds who are likely to get better.

You didn't hear - the rumor is it's Williams and Jalen Green from us.

Probably nothing to it. We showed interest in the past and the tweeter is drumming up views. In fact, that is all it says in the article is that we showed interest in the past but the Pelican are the most interested now.

Makes sense. We've overachieved and ultimately Sabonis doesn't make us a better team vs OKC or any other contender.

I like Sabonis but I think it's a lateral move at best if it were Royce, Richards, and filler.

There isn't a way to get the contracts required for a Sabonis trade without removing some of our main parts.

And what do we do with Williams? He and Sabonis can't play together and I think Williams is a better fit for what we're doing anyway.
