If Jalen Green proves to be the player one hopes for, then the Kevin Durant-Jalen Green trade could later prove to be, for the Houston Rocks, a version of the Mavericks' Luka Doncic trade that is less obviously stupid for one team and one-sided in the other team's favor.
"
Yes, I'm serious. The Mavericks lost patience with Doncic because of correctable problems and traded him for a much older, more injury-prone player player whom they might not even keep.

Similarly, the Rocks lost patience with Jalen Green after only a few years (if that much), and traded him to the Suns for a great but very old player with a questionable personality and history of chemistry issues. Durant is old enough that he could conceivably retire fairly soon. Green is young enough that the Suns could keep him for years if they want to, and one day make him Devin Booker's replacement.

The trade looks good for the Rocks now, because they're one of the best teams in the west; but what are the Rocks supposed to do if, within a few years, Durant retires while Green tears it up for the Suns? I guess the Rocks have gambled that Durant will win them a championship before he retires. The Blunder might have something to say about that, such as laughing and saying "We're better than you."

I'm not going to fantasize about Jalen Green until he has played 20 games for us. He had a rep before he got here. It can go both ways.

Injuries can happen to anyone. Changing mentality is a different story. It can also happen. We'll see how it goes with him. I am hoping it works out.

Thinking about how Dillon Brooks went too far last night, pulling thr Suns back into the game but also getting himself ejected for no good reason, I am supposing he probably shares something in common with Charles Barkley: refusal to change. Barkley was never going to practice more discipline in conditioning, and Brooks will probably never stop getting in pointless fights. With them, you get what they want to give, and nothing else.

Ugh...I didn't know Brooks has a history of giving low blows.

Cotton called Horny the "paper boy" because of his looks. I am not sure how it morphed into choir boy, but Horny had some devil in him too.

We must be talking different definitions of devil in him. Horny was never delivering cheap shots, some under the radar, some blatant because he’s a bit a of a hothead to anyone in a game. That’s the similarity to Ainge that Allen has in common as far as having some devil in him.

The Rockets still have a bunch of draft picks and a ton of young talent and even without KD, destroyed us earlier this season. The didn’t really gamble all that much at all. They’re set up for now and the future.

I like all the Suns two-way players: Koby Brea G, Isaiah Livers F and Jamaree Bouyea PG.

They could easily play on the standard 15 man roster.

The Suns do have a spot open and Nick Richards and Hayes-Davis haven't knocked it out of the park.

Maybe a trade is coming.

Mark Williams being only 24 years old is crazy to me. He plays much older. I hope he keeps being injury free.
Ditto. His presence on the court has an obvious impact on both ends. When we first signed him I didn't know what we would see.

suns are nuts - ott don't need williams to get 15 rebounds he needs 5 or 6 players to get 4 or 5 rebounds

ott don't need book to drop 40 he needs 5 or 6 players to score in double figures- and for everybody to play defense

his system isn't dependent on one player for important tasks - but doesn't stop players from giving all star performances
