Any news on Jalen? Initial reports said he'd be evaluated in 4-6 weeks, and we are hitting that 4 week mark.

Honestly it doesn’t feel like we have lost 10 games. We are 14-10 right now and in the middle of the bottom 8 in the west.
Those early two losses hurt against Grizz and Jazz.
Then the tough two gamer against Houston and Okc.
Yeah, I don't even count that 1-4 start - that was not the same team.

Seems pretty clear to me we are the 4th best team in the west.

In recent video, I haven't seen Green at shootarounds. The last I heard he will be reevaluated sometime near the middle of the month.

That is an amazing statement taken in context.
Yes it is. I would have bet they would not make the playoffs or even the play in before the season started - except I never bet against my teams. I said so many times on this board.

They have been an amazing surprise.

Unfortunately with our lack of picks and cap situation - this may be a short term thing.

They are under the cap and have an owner who doesn't mind spending money. Sure, having Beal's dead salary for years sucks, but their cap situation is really not THAT bad.

As for the picks... draft is a carp shoot, and getting/ finding/ extending Williams and Gillespie is about as good as you can hope for in a couple of drafts. Then there is Goodwin, Bouyea... that's the level of a player they might find near the end of the draft. Oh, and Green hasn't played yet outside of one game and a quarter. Oh, and then there are three rookies playing and developing in the G-League. Sure, it would be nice to have some picks, but it's not like they haven't discovered and developed some young talent.

We have 23 million tied up in dead salary.

We have to extend Mark Williams, Gillespie, and Goodwin. If we can do that - our money is GONE.

There will be no free agent signings other than vet minimums. We have no picks.

That basically means - best case - we keep the team we have. Is that team good enough even if the young guys we have develop - nope.

Don't get me wrong, I like this team a lot. But realistically we cannot compete for a title for at least 5 years because we have no way to get the necessary talent.

Simmons did his power rankings and had us at 16.

He still thinks this start is a fluke.

We have only seen Green for one game. If the team can stay healthy and Green contributes like he did in his only showing they'll be really hard to beat.

At least if make the playoffs, we won't have to watch our lottery picks go out the door.

I don't think it's a fluke but we'll have to see how our system works once the league really starts preparing for us. But 16 sounds about right unless/until we get Booker and Green fully healthy.

We've beat the Spurs and Wolves twice. You think teams aren't "preparing for us" yet?

Ott is the reason I'm not worried about the path ahead for our Suns. He has the team concept implemented with savvy and players' willingness to go along. We need to wait for Green's return and see how his game evolves and fits, and Booker's health and return to form.
For roster composition, Williams and Gillespie are more valuable than Allen and Royce. I'd still be in favor of Allen for Hachimura kind of deal, to get some help at 4 and cap flexibility in summer.

No it doesn’t. We’ve beat Minny twice which he had 6th, we beat the lakers which he had 7th. Our losses are twice to Denver and Houston, #2, and #3, and once to OKC #1.

There is no justification for us being that low. The schedule we have faced is tougher than most of the teams ahead of us.

I know we are better than minny, the lakers and I think the spurs but that is close.

I want kuminga still.

Royce, Richard’s and Nigel is a great deal for us. Problem is I expect the kings to offer more.

I didn't look at the list, I though you meant he had us near the middle of the league which I don't have a problem with.

He might be right, but he might not have watched a single game of ours yet also.

and Lakers.

That said, I do think teams might still be overlooking us. it's barely the 1/4 mark of the year. and we've had so many injuries that other teams probably don't know exactly what to make of us... and I'm a-okay with that. let 'em keep guessing. we'll keep kicking the snot out of the bad teams and surprising some of the good ones.

I have no idea. But we've all seen unheralded teams start strong and then come back to earth once the league starts taking them seriously. Will that be us? Again, I have no idea.

We have a lot of players under contract that I think teams would pay to get that we have bird rights to. And as you said, an owner that doesn't mind spending money. This team is proving the players on this team are worth keeping. I don't think we're gonna see a Kurt Thomas trade under Ishbia.... fingers crossed.

We are better than the middle of the league.

He had Toronto, Miami, Atlanta, Cleveland, Orlando, Spurs, Wolves, and Lakers ahead of us.

The Suns will beat all those teams 2 out of 3 times IMO.

Only teams clearly better than the Suns are OKC, Denver, Houston, and Detroit

You can make an argument for the Knicks and Celtics as well, but I think that is it.

Worst I think we should be ranked is 8th - because the media has to put the Lakers ahead of us for now.
