English on tour,

If Sunderland go up and Southampton go down, what are the chances of Kevin Phillips returning to the Wearsiders? I think that would be great!

music to my ears that kind of chat

i would love it. could happen too, the saints are playing really badly at the moment and as for us - cant complain!!!

have to beat Sheff utd on sat to keep it going though!

SAFC 2-1 Cardiff City

Gillingham 2-1 Wigan Athletic

Ipswich Town 0-2 QPR

Sunderland, Ipswich & Wigan all tied at the top of the table with 66 points!

Stout,

I'd say I was rooting for Newcastle in the UEFA Cup, but Ben (English on tour) made me swear a blood oath never to wish any good fortune on anything Toon-related. Sorry. :(

Here's to your promise :gun:

Actually, at this point, rooting for Newcastle has nothing to do with Sunderland. We are, after all, in the TOP flight, while Sunderland's quality of football isn't quite top flight just yet :p

Good week for the Magpies...took Chelsea down in the FA Cup, advanced in the UEFA cup, and beat Bolton in the Premiership...do I sense a run of victories to end the season? Stay tuned...more after the Liverpool match this weekend!

And, not only did we beat Liverpool, but we advanced in the UEFA cup as well. I hope Sunderland do win promotion; we need another whipping boy to beat up on, especially in a derby match! :D

hey Renz, you might get to see a match in April according to this
I'd love to watch the game, but no pubs around here are showing the match. I get Fox Soccer Channel and gol tv at home, but they don't show any Championship teams unless it is a FA Cup game. :(

But next season I'll be able to watch the Black Cats in the Premiership!

PS - How about that row between Bowyer and Dyer? Hilarious! :D

 Ungh...I'd be willing to bet it was ALL Bowyer. Dyer didn't even throw any real punches, supposedly, although he half threw one in the end. They didn't even apologize to each other.

Bowyer got the max fine of 6 weeks wages, and is ONLY still on the team because we may be able to sell him. Dyer? He still may have a future, but it's tenuous now.

God, do we need to beat Sporting tomorrow!

bad loss today chaps - 2 -1 at home to reading - gutted, i feel like smashing the house up
:thumbdown

The lads need to stop trying to win every game 1-0. Hopefully Ipswich will lose away to Wolves on Monday.

As long as you don't have a bad streak, and hang on to first or second, you will get promoted automatically. Fall to third, and you have a nice playoff just to get the last spot.

That would be great if we could get together and watch the game. Unfortunately, it is scheduled to kickoff at 1:30 PM which is about 5:30 or 6:30 AM in Arizona.

I'd love to watch it if it's on, but I'll be doing so from Virginia if so. Kickoff time is fine for me ;)
