Another offseason, another trade suggestion for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But this new idea comes from the ever-outspoken critic of the Steelers, Colin Cowherd, who believes Pittsburgh needs to move on from T.J. Watt.

According to Cowherd, the Steelers need to part ways with Watt in exchange for a first-round pick, similar to the deal the Giants landed for Dexter Lawrence II.

"Nick Herbig's new deal with the Steelers raises obvious questions about the future of T.J. Watt. Go get a first-round pick,” Cowherd said. “T.J. Watt gets you a first-round pick; it’s not that difficult. The Giants got a top-10 pick for Dexter Lawrence off an offseason. Maxx Crosby, the Ravens were going to give up two first-round picks for him.”

Cowherd continued and criticized the Steelers for failing to move on from older players, specifically for investing so much money into an aging defense.

Watt, who's heading into Year 10, is coming off a dreadful 2025 season in which he recorded just seven sacks in 14 games, despite picking up a three-year extension worth $123 million last offseason.

While it's highly unlikely the Steelers look to trade Watt, his massive contract, coupled with a loaded edge rusher room, makes the move plausible.
