Colin Cowherd Urges Steelers To Trade Superstar Defender originally appeared on SportsNet Pittsburgh. Add SportsNet Pittsburgh as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
There are many reasons why the Pittsburgh Steelers probably won't win the Super Bowl this year, starting with the fact that 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers is their quarterback.
He's not the only old player on their roster, either. The Steelers have the second-oldest defense in the NFL, and it's also the most expensive.
Pittsburgh desperately needs to rebuild but stubbornly refuses to do so.
Colin Cowherd thinks trading T.J. Watt, similar to how the Cleveland Browns just dealt Myles Garrett, would be a good place to start.

"Go get a first-round pick. T.J. Watt gets you a first-round pick. It's not that difficult," Cowherd said on Friday's episode of "The Herd." "The Steelers treat older players like that T-shirt you have that you refuse to give up... Nothing disqualifies you more for a Super Bowl than old and expensive defense."
Watt turns 32 this year, so it's probably a good time to move on from him while his trade value is still relatively high. It's always better to trade a player a year early rather than a year late.
The Browns just got Jared Verse and three draft picks from the Los Angeles Rams for Garrett, including a first-rounder. Watt's trade value isn't quite that high, but he could still net a first-rounder and save the Steelers some money.
They probably won't do it, of course, but they should at least consider it.
