It's clear by how the Pittsburgh Steelers have allocated their resources this offseason, the team is all-in to win in 2026 and if they come up short will need to rebuild in 2027 and that includes cutting some salary. So as we put together this new mock draft, we kept in mind some positions where moey is being spent now but could be saved by swapping out a pricey veteran for one of these rookies.

First round - DT David Stone - Oklahoma

Defensive tackle David Stone has a shot to crack the Top 10 if he can pick up where he left off last season. As far as the Steelers go, the future is uncertain for defensive tackle Keeanu Benton and even veteran Cameron Heyward so Stone makes a lot of sense here.

Second round - CB Ashton Hampton - Clemson

If the Steelers don't get Joey Porter Jr. a new contract this offseason, it could turn into a real mess with franchise tags and negotiations. So we opt for Hampton here, who fits the physical and skill profile of Porter as an excellent option to replace him down the road.

Third round - WR KJ Duff - Rutgers

If DK Metcalf cannot establish himself as a true No. 1 receiver this season with this group, he might not ever do it. But his contract, along with questions about how long Michael Pittman Jr. has left gives us enough concern to draft the massive KJ Duff here. At 6-foot-6, he's a freak of nature and a very smart football player.

Fourth round - LB Christian Alliegro - Ohio State

Christian Alliegro looks like a player who was born to be a Steeler. The Wisconsin transfer joins Ohio State this season and promises to continue to be one of the most physical and productive linebackers in the country. The Steelers could part ways with Patrick Queen and Malik Harrison this offseason, making this a perfect pick.
