The NFL Supplemental Draft is less than a month away, and one insider believes the Pittsburgh Steelers won't be big spenders on quarterback Brendan Sorsby.
According to Nick Farabaugh of PennLive, the Steelers won't be giving up a Day 1 or 2 pick via the upcoming NFL Supplemental Draft, but would likely give up a fifth-round selection at the earliest.
"Up-and-coming Steelers insider Nick Farabaugh says the Steelers would NOT consider drafting Brendan Sorsby until the 5th round of the supplemental draft. At the earliest," 93.7 The Fan's Andrew Fillipponi reported via X.
Sorsby, considered at one point one of the top quarterback prospects of the 2027 NFL Draft class, lost his NCAA eligibility following a gambling controversy in which he admitted to making thousands of bets worth at least $90,000.
Previous reports suggested the Steelers were "doing their homework" on Sorsby and that the prior gambling controversy wouldn't be a "disqualifier" for Pittsburgh. But if another team outbids the Steelers' projected price, Pittsburgh could miss out on the young quarterback.
