The Pittsburgh Steelers, and the rest of the the NFL for that matter, will not be able to draft Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby in the Supplemental Draft. Per Adam Schefter, the NFL has ruled that there will be no Supplemental Draft in 2026.
“[The] NFL is declining to hold a supplemental draft this summer, currently leaving the 2027 Draft as the only way for QB Brendan Sorsby to enter the NFL,” Schefter reports. “A letter is being sent to Sorsby, and to all 32 NFL teams, to inform them of the league’s decision. The league continues to try to show it has little tolerance for gambling issues.”
Sorsby was set to be the highest-profile player drafted in the Supplemental draft sine Terrelle Pryor back in 2011. The polarizing quarterback made nearly 3,000 bets while in college, totaling over $90,000. These included 40 bets on Indiana while he was a member of the Hoosiers roster from June 2022 to December 2023.
