So do we start Beck?

The arm thing with Beck is a real concern. Hopefully the arm strength will keep developing after the injury. I like the work ethic, height, speed, lower body size. Brissett is also pretty strong, but the 4.94 40 speed to me is significant in a dual threat type league now. JB does make some throws, but a lot of overthrows, misses, picks at the worse times.

Yeah let’s fire the kid out there against SEA week two and see how it works out (rolls eyes).

What a stupid pick.

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.
...as long as our 2 new guards work out...there really aint much difference between starting against seattle or anybody else.
that was our issue with them...front of the pocket collapsing immediately...if thats fixed, then its fixed...if it aint, it aint...and it wont matter who is under center.

A simplified approach, which is cool, but I’m afraid beck is much more likely to break your heart than he is to make our dreams come true oaken1, even with reasonable pass protection.

He’s probably going to look like…

A working class man’s Matt Leinart.

Not nearly good enough. Not even better than Jacobi.

Sorry for my cynical view, but so what if Beck fails? I mean, I wrote back in early April that I see him as a good option right now, but also that I doubt he is the long-term answer, so in my eyes, it’s not about building him up to do anything. I would certainly start him in week one, and if he is good, that’s great, but if he can’t play, only he gets broken. Not the Cardinals (because they are already broken). I wish him well, but I am also willing to sacrifice him in an attempt to win.

And just to be clear: I am a person. I do have a soul. It might be a little dark, but it’s there.

idk what to expect from beck - some are bothered by the injury - some don't like the attitude - some don't like the picks at the end of big games

i get the injury and i get the attitude but idk about those interceptions - some qbs are more than comfortable gambling at the end of games because it's the end of the game

if they're losing and know there isn't enough time to get the ball back on offense they gamble - every smart qb does it because it's literally their last/only opportunity to win the game

they aren't afraid of throwing the pick they're afraid of time running out - so they throw it to receivers they trust most hoping for a miracle

im not a beck guy - no delusions of grandeur there - im not a brissett or a minshew guy - pretty sure im a open qb competition guy - most heart least suck guy

jacoby brissett is 33 - in cardinal years that means he's 28 because we always get players 5 years too late - all im saying is brissett won't age out/retire in the next few years - if everything somehow magically clicks he's still got some time

if brissett continues to (albeit beautifully) fail we will be off to a horrible start with no end in sight but like the zen master says who knows

My issue is that two years from now we’ll be saying we could have drafted so-and-so with the pick instead of beck.

That pick was a chance to draft an impact player, but instead we wasted it on a Hail Mary for our QBOTF.

For the record I’m hoping I’m dead wrong and he turns out to be a superstar, but I think it’s about 50-1 that happens.

A horrendous pick by Monti. Indefensible.

Third round pick in a lean draft isn’t gonna get me too twitterpated.

Well, if he plays, he will have a massive impact no matter if he is good or bad. :)

And also, I think it is limited how deep feelings you can have about if a third-round pick is wasted or not, but I understand your point.

I'm going back to WW11. The Navy had a Construction Brigade known as the Fighting Seabies. We can be known as the Fighting CB's.

Beck is trash. And he's not going to be an NFL QB of significance. He'll be lucky to be a Drew Stanton.

I hope to shoot 72 tomorrow, but I won't. That's the same a hoping Beck is going to be a legit NFL QB.

It's amazing to me how people downgrade how hard it is to be an NFL good QB.

The Cards drafted Murray #1 overall and he had talent. They ran him out of town. As they should have.

Now people think Beck, who had a middling college career is going to be the guy ????

Yes, it could happen. There's like a 3% chance. But I'm going with he's not going to amount to anything of significance.

So you’re saying there IS a chance!
