But then they would've tipped their hand on who they were drafting. They either had not decided, or wanted to keep it very quiet.

The Dov Klieman tweet should put the nonsense to bed about nobody wanting Rosen.Since Cards had no leverage GMs were trying to get something for as little as possible.

If I were in their shoes I’d have hoped to trade the #1 to the raiders for them to take Bosa. Or even to the Niners (admittedly low chance of such a trade within division). At 4 I’d land Murray and walk away with another #1 or more. If they were shopping Rosen prior everyone would know they are taking Murray and no one would have to trade up to get the defender they wanted. At least that would’ve been my logic.

This is what I don't understand, Keim gets bashed for not shopping Rosen earlier but when he sorta puts out the message that Rosen could be available he hurts his trade value. Who didn't know that the Cards very well may draft Murray and therefore Rosen would be available for trade?

This is how rumors and bad information gets started. The Agent said the Cards didn't want Rosen to win the QB battle, he was trying to read the Cardinals FO minds.

GM's are ALWAYS trying to get the player they want for less. If multiple GM's wanted Rosen then that's leverage for the Cards.

Rosen had a good attitude while he was here. I have no problem rooting for him. If you had to choose to be traded elsewhere, Miami is a fun destination.

That's just the thing - how do you try to trade Rosen without tipping your hand that you're planning to draft Murray?

The really crazy thing, to me, is that half the people criticizing Keim for "squandering Rosen's trade value" say he blew it by leaking the information too soon, and half say he blew it by waiting too long.

But those same GMs Also realized that there was likely no way that Rosen and Murray would work on the same team so Keim was having to play the other teams game .

Notice that 0% say he handled it well. He is paying for his mismanagement of the team last season. I don’t see Keim in Arizona long. Right or not, he is going to be held accountable for the Wilks hire

That's assuming that those other GM's decided to not try and get a QB which they really needed on of. If GM's really wanted Rosen then they would have made better offers and gotten Rosen. Those other GM's decided that 3 rookie QB's were a better option then Rosen because they spent more to get those QB's not only in draft capital but money and salary cap space.

An you imagine if he takes over for that one d
I honestly have no idea why people don’t see this. Trying to trade him beforehand would have been idiotic.
