Exactly. Jimmy wouldn’t have apologized publicly to the RB for getting upset with him. Jimmy also wouldn’t apologize for bad play calling and would have fired Petzing by now.
Back when coaches were alphas. Gannon and Kingsbury run a country club.

So think about the worst mistake that you could make at your job that isn’t criminal and that didn’t get someone hurt or killed. And ask yourself if you should have/would have gotten fired.

That’s how looked at it. I was often walking a razor’s edge late in my military career where you were very careful not to step out of line or you were toast. But early on????? Say I was someone who was qualified to do a task but it was my first time doing it (coming off the bench) and I performed well aside from a mistake, would I have been fired? I don’t think so.

A) he isn’t a rookie

B) it wasn’t his “first time” toting the rock, or even having a long TD run

C) he JUST SAW the same gaff the week before and learned NOTHING

This was callous indifference. This was a ME over TEAM move. It wasn’t accident, it was indicative of a personality trait that is a team killer.

I don’t want to call for ending anyone’s career. But even with time and reflection I would have to cut him. He will land with another team. The cut wouldn’t be punishment. It would be a message to the rest of the team that such nonsense is not tolerated. And certainly not from a role player.

Gaffe BIM sorry, I had to. I'll see myself out.
