What fascinates me is that did he not see the Colts player, AD Mitchell, do the same last week?
A better question is did the Cards coaching staff not show that video to the entire team pointing out that we (cardinals players) finish every play?

Can't imagine any player doing that after being shown the film of Indy.

What are the odds of that play not being shown in the all team meeting?

It isn't about making me feel good.

It's about sending a clear message to the players that their inattention to detail in the form of boneheaded plays and penalties won't be tolerated.

A prick move by Gannon - absolutely... but it's needed. IMO.

The Cardinals will continue to make "boneheaded plays and penalties".

I don't think that message has been sent to the rest of the team, however, I think Dermercado already got his.

100%

Players don’t watch games of the teams they’re not playing in the next month. They’re enjoying their time off.

Profound stupidity, but its emblematic of the overall coaching philosophy to drop anchor and take the foot off the gas before the job is done.

again has to be said this wasn't a one off with him. He played a huge role in a loss earlier in the season with a big drop. And in the same game last night he cost us a first down on a penalty on them by making the most obvious and stupid holding call I've seen in awhile literally grabbing the defender and pulling him down to get Kyler to the sideline on a free play because they'd made illegal contact with McBride. For a guy who really hasn't played that much to make huge mistakes that contributed to 2 of our 3 consecutive losses is pretty damning.

If we didn't have 2 RB's out, he'd probably be gone IMO

No, he shouldn't be cut. This is not the first time a player in the NFL did this exact same thing and it won't be the last. What we should be asking is how Demarcado who is averaging 12+ YPC isn't getting the ball more. We saw him break several long runs in pre season and now in regular season. Despite the fumble, which I suspect he will never do again, Demarcado should be on the field more.

Let's face it, this was one of many miscues that lost the game yesterday.

Well, if you want all 53 to get the message, you give Demercardo a bus ticket out of AZ.

Do you really think that will fix the Cardinals? I mean, really… not just a retort if we are digging for the root problem.

He's had several long runs in his career but the guy with long runs in the preseason was Bam Knight. Amari had an 18 yard run, next longest was 8.

The one last night again that was a MASSIVE hole, I think any back on our roster could have gotten 50 plus on that one, it was a great run but he screwed the pooch at the end.

Literally can't believe they put him back in the game after that. Guy makes a drop yeah you go back to him build his confidence. guy hot dogs on a long run loses the ball for a touchback, you don't put him back in the game

I'm unsure what the root problem is or even if it exists. Ask the question in this forum and you get a half dozen answers.

I do know, however, what can concentrate the mind: shape up, or you can be the next shipped out, can do it.

I can only guess at the root problem as well. However, if the Cardinals played more aggressive, especially on offense, it would be a lot easier to forgive mistakes.

Jonathan Gannon apologizes to the team and Emari Demercado.

wait HE apologized to Emari?

What color is the sky in your world where you apologize to the guy who hotdogs and costs you a TD that wound up costing you the game?

Coaches have been fired for this type of behavior. If the coach can't keep it together, how can he expect the players?

There is such a thing as leading by example.

in highschool sure, junior high sure. Maybe even college. NFL, Emari is a professional football player he gets paid to do this. He made a very selfish play and it wound up costing his team a football game.

Gannon didn't know at the time they were going to lose but he sure had a reason to be mad at him.

DeMercado should be the one apologizing to the team. And maybe he did and we just don't know.

In the video, it looked like Gannon struck Emari in some fashion. Did you see it?
