Seattle Mariners manager Dan Wilson speaks to the media after a 5-1 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. | Teren Kowatsch/Roundtable Sports
SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners had everything working for them in a 5-1 win against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday at T-Mobile Park.
The pitching, offense and defense fired on all-cylinders to lift the Mariners (30-29) to their fifth-straight victory and second-straight series win.
"(Our confidence) started to grow, I think, in the Athletics series," Seattle manager Dan Wilson said in a postgame interview Saturday. "I think getting here at home in front of a sell-out crowd here the first couple nights here back at home, and in our own building, yes, it feels really good. These guys, they continue to respond and they continue to do what they do. The at-bats have been great, the pitching has been so solid. ... This is a team right now that's doing the things they need to do to win consistently."
The Mariners hit four solo home runs that accounted for 80% of their offense against the Diamondbacks. It was the second game in a row the M's hit four homers.
Those four homers were equally split between the second and third innings, respectively.
Seattle right fielder Luke Raley got things going with a solo shot to right field for his team-leading 13th long ball of the season.
Mariners designated hitter Dominic Canzone belted the second homer of the inning. He sent his to right field to bolster Seattle's lead to 2-0.
Mariners third baseman and top prospect joined the home run party with his second of the season (and his career) — a solo shot to right field in the bottom of the third.
Center fielder Julio Rodriguez accounted for the final homer of the game for Seattle. It was a solo shot to center field. It was his third-straight game with a homer and his 10th blast of the season.
"I feel like we have been — since the beginning of the year, I feel like guys have been showing up every single day, working hard, preparing themselves to be ready to play every single game. I just feel like right now, things are really going our way," Rodriguez said after the game. " ... I'm just swinging. Just swinging the bat and feeling well at the plate."
Mariners starting pitcher Bryan Woo put together one of his outing of the season to go with his offense's great night.
The 2025 All-Star struck out nine batters and allowed two hits in seven innings pitched.
"Honestly, everything (was working)," Woo said in a postgame interview. "Kind of had all five (pitches) in the zone and consistently working. (Catcher Mitch Garver) was great. I think he was fantastic about the fastball. (It) was really good and established it early. As we got into guys' second and third at-bats, just keeping them off-balance and giving them stuff that they hadn't seen yet."

The defense behind Woo was putting in work, as well.
In the top of the sixth inning, first baseman Josh Naylor fielded a 109-mile per hour grounder hit by Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte.
Seattle second baseman Cole Young gave woo another run to work with in the bottom of the sixth. He brought home left fielder Randy Arozarena with an RBI sacrifice fly that bolster the M's advantage to 5-0.
Arizona's only run came with two outs in the top of the ninth.
Mariners reliever Alex Hoppe had issues a two-out walk to D-backs shortstop Gerardo Perdomo, who latter advanced to third on defensive indifference.
Catcher Mitch Garver allowed a ball to get past him, which advanced Perdomo to third. Hoppe forgot to cover home plate while Garver was recovering the passed ball and Perdomo scored for the eventual final of 5-1.
Seattle will look to extend its win streak to six games and earn its second-straight series sweep in game three against Arizona at 1:10 p.m. PT on Sunday at T-Mobile Park.
The Mariners will have Bryce Miller and Luis Castillo piggybacking, with Miller getting the start. Merrill Kelly will start for the Diamondbacks.
