SEATTLE — For the fourth game in a row, the Seattle Mariners offense was firing on all cylinders. And for the fourth game in a row, it resulted in a win.

The Mariners beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-6 in a 10-inning shootout Friday at T-Mobile Park.

Seattle improved to .500 with the win (29-29) and extended its hold on first place in the American League West to 1.5 games over the Athletics.

The Mariners clinched the win after Randy Arozerena, with one out and runners on first and second, successfully teed off on a slider low and away for the walk-off RBI double.

"I think in some ways, that's the beauty of (Arozarena's) approach," Seattle manager Dan Wilson said in a postgame interview Friday. "It allows you to stay on (pitches) a little bit longer. He was able to do that on that pitch. He found the barrel and it found some outfield grass. That's the ball game right there but that's what we've seen from him, his ability to stay on it and stay through it. And just another outstanding at-bat from Randy."

Shortstop J.P. Crawford started the bottom of the 10th as the Mariners' automatic runner at second and ended up being the game-winning run, which was fitting considering the caliber of game he had.

Crawford finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs, reached base three times and scored four runs. Both his hits were homers. It was the first multi-homer game of his career.

Crawford's first blast was a lead-off solo shot to right field in the bottom of the first that gave Seattle a 1-0 lead early.

The former Gold Glove-winner's second homer was a two-run shot to center field in the bottom of the fifth that bolstered the Mariners' lead to 5-1.

In addition to his offense, Crawford also made an impact on defense. He fielded a 101.6-mile per hour ground ball hit by Diamondbacks right fielder Corbin Carroll that kept the go-ahead run standing at third. Crawford made the throw to first for the second out of the top of the 10th inning.

Cooper Criswell pitches a clean 10th, thanks in large part to this diving stop by J.P. Crawford on a 101.6 mph grounder up the middle off the bat of Corbin Carroll with the infield drawn in.

In between Crawford's two homers, center fielder Julio Rodriguez had one of his own — a two-run shot to left field in the bottom of the third.

Rodriguez's homer was hit 113.6 mph and was his ninth of the month.

"Julio's been a good at-bat," Arozarena said after the game via interpreter Freddy Llanos. "He's been pretty good. I think that he's an important player so to get him hot early definitely helps us a lot. Offensively, but then you also see it defensively. He's a Gold Glove out there."

Arizona's usually-potent offense came alive in the top of the sixth inning, where it scored four of its six runs.

Carroll and shortstop Geraldo Perdomo had a single and a double, respectively to set the Diamondbacks up with runners at third and second with one out.

Catcher Gabriel Moreno brought both runners home with a two-RBI double to cut Arizona's deficit to 5-3.

Moreno's hit marked the end of the day for Seattle starting pitcher George Kirby, who finished with four strikeouts, one walk and four earned runs allowed on six hits (one home run) in 5.1 innings pitched.

Matt Brash took over for Kirby and also run into trouble against the D-backs.

Brash walked designated hitter Adrian Del Castillo and allowed a signed to center fielder Ryan Waldschmidt, which gave Arizona the bases loaded with one out.

First baseman Ildemaro Vargas brought a run home with a fielder's choices and third baseman Jose Fernandez hit an RBI single, which tied the game 5-5.

After the Diamondbacks loaded the bases again, Brash struck out former Mariner and current Arizona second baseman Ketel Marte to end the inning.

The one run the D-backs had entering the sixth came via a solo homer hit by Perdomo in the top of the fourth.

The Diamondbacks finished the game 3-for-17 with runners in scoring position and left 13 runners on base. Friday marked the most at-bats with runners in scoring position Arizona has had all season.

Mariners right fielder Luke Raley broke the tie with the team's fourth home run of the game — a solo shot to right field in the bottom of the sixth.

Seattle's one-run lead carried into the top of the ninth inning.

Two-time Mariners All-Star closer Andres Munoz allowed back-to-back singles and hit designated hitter Nolan Arenado with a pitch to give the Diamondbacks the bases loaded with no outs.

Vargas hit into another fielder's chose which brought home Perdomo, which tied the game 6-6.

Munoz got out of the inning, but the M's were unable to put the game away in the bottom of the ninth.

Seattle reliever Cooper Criswell induced three-straight groundouts, including Crawford's snag on Carroll's grounder, to set the Mariners up with the walk-off opportunity in the bottom of the 10th.

The M's will look to increase their win streak to five and get back over .500 in game two of the series at 7:10 p.m. PT on Saturday at T-Mobile Park.

Bryan Woo will start for the Mariners and Ryne Nelson will start for the Diamondbacks.
