RIP. The only time I saw him in person was when he was announced to the crowd before the 1987 Rose Bowl. He was the
Rose Parade grand marshal that year.

I never saw him play other than in a couple of documentaries, but to win 3 world cups is something else. for me he's the biggest legend ever in the sports world by namesake and his feats that he accomplished.

As an older man who never appreciated soccer players, I consider him the greatest. RIP Pele.

RIP to the GOAT.

I watched one movie about his rise and the first World Cup. His father was a great player but Brazil choked in his era. His father used to rib him about his records because there was one record of his father's he didn't match. Something about headed goals or a headed goal...I can't remember.

Edit: Wow, the record was five headed goals in one game!!!

Never been a soccer fan, never watched a match but Pele' was one of those names that transcended ignorance of a sport. When I told my wife that Pele' died she was like "Wow. He is a legend." and she is not a sports fan at all.
R.I.P. GOAT.

At one time him and Muhammed Ali were probably the two most recognizable people in the world.

When I was a kid, I loved the movie Victory with him in it.
