Who was that DJ in the early 80s on 104.7 that everyone listened to? Johnathan something or other? Never did get why people thought he was funny.

Dave Pratt's Candy Bar Song, now that was funny, if only inappropriate for my young ears at the time. That's back when KUPD and KDKB would compete for who would play the most Van Halen, Rush, and Led Zeppelin. Actually, it seemed like every popular music station played at least one VH song and one Rush song in regular rotation. On 104.7 circa 1982 in any given hour you could hear: Madonna, The Police, the Beach Boys, the Moody Blues, Rush, the Monkees, Johnny Paycheck, Eddie Money, Asia, Van Halen, Michael Jackson, the Stones, ... you get the idea.

Early 80s was a weird time to listen to the radio.

JB is on the radio here in Chicago. I thought it was weird as I remember him from back in my younger days in Glendale, AZ. KDKB and KUPD had quite the war back in the day. What was the "college station" in the early 90's on AM? I loved that station.

Branmeyer ended up on the drive time sports talk station in Denver when I lived there. Theres something VERY crappy about bad FM rush hour jocks trying to do sports talk with the same shtick. Terrible.

When I last lived in AZ 92.3 was Power 92 and played TERRIBLE pop music. Thr Ffffffffffffriday Night Party Patrol went som,ething like this:

DJ: We're out here at the ice skating rink at Metrocenter with Julie and Sharon. How old are you Sharon?
Sharon: 15!
DJ: Julie?
Julie: 14 and a half!

Gimme 80's music over 90s tunage ANY day. Hip Hop was rawer, I guess the early 90s are the best for hip hop, but damn. Punk rock was amazing in the 80's and then at the end of the decade morphed into grunge. Sure grunge was cool, but then it too morphed into big budget grunge like Alice in Chains and STP and I personally hated all that. New Wave, amazing genre and HUGE to boot. Aw screw it. I had a hell of a time from 1985 until 2006, when my first daughter was born. I danced, did drugs, drank like a ****, played in a band, toured the country, rode my vespa all over the western US, did more drugs, DJed, partied and partied some more. Im glad to be settling down, for sure but 85 on was a hell of a party.

Man STP is one of the greatest rock bands I have ever heard! (the early cd's at least)

I am a product of the nineties so maybe I am biased but music from the 90s cannot be touched, rap, rock, metal, all the best was then. 8 in 1990, 18 in 2000, great years.

I tried. I really did. I went back and re listened to it after I grew up a bit as when I was younger I way more snotty and elitsit than I am now (believe it or not!) and I just cant get into it. At all. Talented for sure, but it just doesnt do it for me in the least. too polished or something. Too emo-metal maybe. I dont know. I just dont dig it.

Oh man that place is awesome. Did the woman behind the counter abuse you? It is fun to watch her abuse the drunks coming in for late night food. The dogs are awesome, and so are the cheese fries.

Stephen Colbert mentioned Weiner Circle. He told Jennifer Aniston if she is going to live in Chicago, she should look the part and start eating the double char chili cheese dog.

I had the char with everything. Maybe one less pickle slice would ave been fine and they were a bit heavy handed on the celery salt, but I could see perfection behind the execution flaws. I could tell she was itchin to abuse someone so I soup nazi'd on her and just laid out my order and got the F outta the way. And then I tipped her and I was her "baby"

I did the same. I usually go without the celery salt. Don't see the appeal. But I wouldn't mess with it there.
