The Phoenix Suns are signing center Duop Reath to a deal, sources tell ESPN. With Mark Williams (shoulder) sidelined for several months, the Suns add the former Portland Trail Blazers big man for frontcourt depth on the roster.

Suns got it done. Reath had several offers and chose the Phoenix Suns on a one-year vet minimum deal.

This won't be Duop Reath's first time in a Phoenix Suns uniform.

After spending the 2021-22 season in Australia's NBL, Reath appeared in two Summer League games for Phoenix in 2022.

Interesting. Duop Reath is eligible for a two-way contract. Looks like the Suns have options.

However, I suspect, there is a strong possibility he makes the Suns regular roster with other teams interested in him as well. Of course he will have to earn it.

It's a slur for "Italian." A very old one that you don't hear much anymore, but nevertheless. Understandable if you weren't aware, and obviously needlessly impacts other innocent usages.

Im surprised Reath was still available. He's a young stretch big with Two-Way eligibility. He played for a winning team last year also. I'm glad the Suns were able to swoop him up because he's exactly the type of player to take a flyer on. He plays like a poor man's Channing Frye with better shot blocking instincts.
