North Carolina has rescheduled its ceremony to honor former guard R.J. Davis for halftime of Tuesday’s regular-season home finale against Clemson, the program announced Friday.

The celebration had been planned for Monday’s game against Louisville, but severe winter weather prevented Davis’ family from traveling to Chapel Hill. His banner was still unveiled before tipoff and now hangs in the Smith Center rafters after he was named the 2024 ACC Player of the Year. Davis is one of 51 former Tar Heels to receive that recognition.

Davis played five seasons at UNC from 2020 to 2025 and finished as the program’s No. 2 all-time scorer after entering his final year ranked fifth. He set the Smith Center single-game scoring record with 42 points against Miami on Feb. 26, 2024, and earned consensus All-America honors that season.

As a fifth-year senior, Davis started all 37 games and averaged 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.0 steal in 34.2 minutes, earning All-ACC second-team honors. He went undrafted in 2025 and later signed with the Los Angeles Lakers organization.
