Not any scarier than going in with Matt really.

False. Much more scary. I've already seen 5 passes directly to the opposition from DA in 3 preseason games. He's a highly inaccurate fastball thrower with no touch that will put up terrible mistakes AND hang receivers out to dry (as he did Early).

Matt's a puss...

We run the ball more with the wuss, and play a ball control offense. With the gunslinger, we throw more and give DA more mistake zones. That's fine with Kurt. DA is not Kurt. He won't fix his mistakes like Kurt did.

No sir, DA is a much more frightening proposition. Did you see any of his games last year? He made Jamarcus Russell look good.

Anyone can feel free to go back and see some of my posts on Leinart. I was firmly in his camp until he again failed to live up to his responsibilities as QB and team leader this offseason and crapped the bed during the preseason.

Leinart's had plenty of chances.

and if anyone feels I "hate" him and always have, try to go back to 2006 when we drafted him and I went ape-**** over getting him and then begged for him to start over and over and over and over again over Warner for two years!

This ain't about hating the guy. It's about thinking based on what we've seen and now heard from him, that he just sucks and doesn't have what it takes to be a leader or a QB.

What did he do so miserably to fail this team in the offseason?

Why am I always on the opposite side of the fence from you?
I was one of ones fighting tooth and nail for Warner and now that he's gone you don't want Leinart when I actually do want to see what he would do as the starting QB this year. :p

I'm with you. I thought Leinart should've started over Warner in 2008 and was upset when Whiz ran the dual QB system in 2007 as I thought it would slow ML's progress.

Now I know to listen to Whiz. A guy who if you ask the Leinart fan boys apparently forgot how to coach last week according to some here after leading the Arizona f'ing Cardinals of all teams to two consecutive playoffs including a Super Bowl.

You don't think there's a reason the locker room is almost entirely against Leinart? I'll trust the opinion of 52 defending NFC West Champions and it's coaching staff over 60,000 drunk bitter Cleveland fans.

BS. Lombardi is speculating on that, and even in the freaking interview he says "he doesn't have the support of some of the great players on that offense." Read: Lombardi doesn't think Larry is in Matt's camp. Whether that is true or not, it does not mean the locker room is almost entirely against Leinart. In fact, the video's graphic says "IS cardinals locker room DIVIDED on Leinart" not "the entire locker room is against Leinart."

It's bad enough out there without a contingent of the fan base making up things and hyper-overreacting to crap the media slings, then throwing hyperbole on top of it.

Dude's getting cut, traded or benched. Sit back and be happy..no need to exaggerate.

He doesn't put in the amount of work in the weight or film room. He's gotten better over the years but nowhere near the team's true leaders.

This is wrong. He hired one of the top trainers in So Cal over the season and worked out with Tom Brady and Carson Palmer along with running routes with T.O. and Fitz.

Okay, believe whatever you want. Nobody takes Matt Leinart seriously, that's the truth. It's all over the place that it's off the field stuff why he's out of here, Whiz said so himself.

Where to start?

It's not my fault that you're not convinced by completion percentage

Completion percentage is important, but becomes less important when the qb can't get first downs and can't put points on the board. This pre-season is a case study in how completion percentage can be misleading.

times waived
Kurt Warner was waived. By your rationale, will your boy Matty be automatically worthless when he gets waived?

who's been cheered when they've been injured

LOL, I wonder if that's a factor in the draft/free agency qb evaluation process...

who put up a QB rating of 35 in the Pro Bowl
Even funnier, man, I always look to see how players perform in meaningless all star games to determine how I feel about them.

turnovers
Kurt never turned it over...oh wait...

how each player has performed over the last two seasons
Nice cherry picking, anyone who would call it anything other than a wash is out of their mind. You're argument might hold some water if Leinart did anything to inspire any confidence in anyone. He didn't.

or who's performed better in this preseason.
Trot out the same tired completion percentage argument. I saw a qb in Leinart that completed a bunch of checkdowns, and for the vast majority of the time didn't move the offense. Sure, Anderson wasn't much better, but at least he took chances and moved the chains. Again, to say that Leinart was significantly better in the preseason shows who really has the bias. (Hint...it ain't me)

You're not even swayed by the opinion of the head coach as little as a month ago.

You're right...I've watched sports enough and spent enough time listening to interviews to be able to decipher coach speak. Further, I'll judge a coach and their opinions based on what they do, not always what they say.

I'm more impressed with the opinion of Whis now, not a month ago, as it actually matters now.

I don't accuse people of hating Leinart until they show that they have a negative personal opinion of him.

I guess you don't appreciate the distinction between having a negative opinion on a player based on performance, and illogical, irrational "hate". By that stupid logic, it's pretty clear that Whis "hates" Leinart.

I guess overall my biggest issue with this would be having a QB we aren't sure will do well and two rookies backing him up. Maybe Leinart would do well, maybe Anderson would do well, may both would, and maybe neither would. I'm in the Leinart camp, but that's because he's been here and has waited for his time instead of causing a stink and asking for trades.

I wonder if Wiz basically looks at the situation as "they both suck and if they both suck, then we're probably screwed no matter who we turn to and if that's the case and we DO have to turn to someone else, the season's likely over and we might as well start evaluating for the future with our rookie QBs so that next season, we don't get caught with our pants down at that position."

I have no crystal ball, I can only go by what ive seen in preseason. Even if we are to say Matt is ultra conservative, which is his biggest knack, it means for the most part he'll keep the ball out of the defenses hands.

True, he may keep it out of the hands of the defense more often, but he'll also put it in the hands of the opposing offense more often, just as he did in the preseason. Newsflash - he whined throughout the preseason about not getting enough reps, but he would have gotten more if he would have gotten a couple of first downs.

Even worse, I just don't see the running game thriving with Leinart at the helm. Without the threat of moving the ball down the field, I would fully anticipate other teams putting 8 in the box, and keying on the run.

Ive seen Anderson play. Dude is wild...and not in a good way. Many of his incompletions were either way off target, picked or a dropped pick.

Trust me, I know Anderson is far from perfect, but he at least takes chances. Further, we have excellent receivers who can make guys like Anderson look better and at least compete for those jump ball type situations. Larry clearly thrives in them.

As I've said before, neither option is an attractive one, but to say one is a clear choice over the other is just stupid.

Hopefully he doesn't tho. I'm hopeful that he believes that he can win with either one. We haven't seen Anderson play a regular season game with this team, so I don't see how we know what to expect. The weapons on this offense should be much better than what he had in Cleveland. I'm not anti-Anderson, but I do believe Leinart will be able to turn his career around given the chance.

I think McCown did one of the funniest things I have ever seen a professional football player do during a game. I am not sure it was him, but think so. He was behind the Cardinal line and they were having a terrible day pass blocking (probably run blocking as well). Big had someone just blow right past him. McCown through the ball away. Right into the back of Big's head. I thought it was hilarious and it sure looked intentional.

I remember that play. I never thought about it being intentional, but you may be right. It certainly would make for a good story.:D
