Really? If not for Beanie's fumble against the Bears Leinart gets in the endzone twice much less inside the 20.

That's cool doing it against a crappy, 2nd string defense.... I'm talking when the bullets are live. DA put up 29 TD's in a season. In 12 games in '06, Matty tossed a whopping 11 TD's.

Ha, who is we? You and K9 haven't come up with one convincing reason why Leinart is a significantly better option than Anderson, and you're argument degrades to people "hating" Leinart, the most puerile and idiotic position you can take.

You certainly havent listened to my argument. I never said he is significantly better, I said he is not capable of losing as many games as DA, who is a turnover machine. Ive seen the guy play, he fails the eyeball test miserably.

You have to admit, comparing McCown and Leinart is pretty hilarious. The respective responses and contrast to losing both just illustrates how over the top ridiculous the board has gone over it.

Sure, but the two situations are different. Very different. Its easy to copy/paste stats, but there is a back story to this one.

Because the game was already over? It's like hopping on the DBacks 2011 World Series bandwagon right now because of how they've played the last few weeks.

Leinart was given the starting slot in 2007, 2008, and 2010 and lost it every time. He's had plenty of chances.

2007...injured

2008...lost to Warner

2010...TBD

Uh... I'll take the guy who has proven he can put the ball in the end zone, versus the guy who has shown that he can't, and who happens to be the guy who the Head Coach and certain players feel to be poor leader...

but there is a back story to this one.

The back story is that Matt cant cut it and is not capable of running this O in the coaches eye. Thats good enough for me.

To be fair, the Bears 1st string defense was still playing at the time. We shouldn't forget though that Matt Leinart's long TD drive was helped by Tim Hightower going Walter Payton on da Bears.

I would take Leinart's 7/10 game against the Saints with a grain of salt. The team was getting it's ass kicked and the Saints were already in prevent defense mode when Warner went out.

Nope. Bears first string was still in when Matt came in. As banged up as they were. What has Anderson done the last two years? Remember he is a Browns reject.

The fact that Whiz does not like Matt does not change who Derek Anderson is. I am fine with no Matt but the alternative should not be Derek Anderson.

2007 - Warner was getting more snaps by Week 3, Leinart's benching was almost an inevitability before he got hurt.

2008 - lost to Warner

2010 - lost to Derek Anderson.

That's three smart guy.

I think McCown did one of the funniest things I have ever seen a professional football player do during a game. I am not sure it was him, but think so. He was behind the Cardinal line and they were having a terrible day pass blocking (probably run blocking as well). Big had someone just blow right past him. McCown through the ball away. Right into the back of Big's head. I thought it was hilarious and it sure looked intentional.

Precisely

I dont think people realize how scary the prospect of having Anderson at the helm is.

I said he is not capable of losing as many games as DA, who is a turnover machine.

Respectfully, how can you say that with any certainty? I think you could make a strong argument that it's just as likely that Matt will lose games by not moving the ball as Anderson will lose by turning the ball over.

Not any scarier than going in with Matt really.

Saying Leinart is accurate and can manage a game is completely speculative as he's never really done that professionally. Look, Anderson is in all likelihood going to suck but that doesn't mean we should keep around a QB who's just as bad at 3x the money and attitude problems.

Haha, like our defense and running game would've been able to slack off with Leinart and his 3 yard dump off's spearheading the offense? Give me a break.

Don't know about attitude problems, but there's probably a reason that Browns fans cheered when he got injured.

As for the money, Anderson's contract has $11 million in incentives based on starts. So if you're interested in saving money, you're probably hoping that he craps the bed in a remarkable way so that Skelton or whomever we get on the waiver wire starts the last 12 games of the season.

David Carr once upon a time had a 68% completion for an entire season. Completion % is very a poor way to judge a QB's compared to the eyetest. Leianrt can throw short and accurate 5 yard passes to decent sized windows but the majority of his intermediate and deep passes are generally inaccurate.

This line of argument has no actual bearing on reality.

Ha, who is we? You and K9 haven't come up with one convincing reason why Leinart is a significantly better option than Anderson, and you're argument degrades to people "hating" Leinart, the most puerile and idiotic position you can take.

It's not my fault that you're not convinced by completion percentage, times waived, who's been cheered when they've been injured, who put up a QB rating of 35 in the Pro Bowl, turnovers, YPA, how each player has performed over the last two seasons, or who's performed better in this preseason. You're not even swayed by the opinion of the head coach as little as a month ago.

I don't accuse people of hating Leinart until they show that they have a negative personal opinion of him.

It's not speculative, Warner was getting the bulk of the snaps in 2007 when Matt got hurt. Warner was the guy.

2010 is a done deal. Not sure how you refuse to believe that, putting two and two together is pretty easy.

I dont think people realize how scary the prospect of having Anderson at the helm is.
We're aware. We're just making fun of the guys who think it will all be beer and skittles with Leinart.

I think the problem most people have with this is that Leinart has never been given the chance he was promised and Its not like we have Kurt Warner beating him out we have Anderson, who unfortunately has been given a chance and is who he is a guy alot like Jamarcus Russell big arm and no accuracy, Anderson has been given his chances and was beaten out by Brady Quinn who as last glance is getting beat out by Tim Tebow for the 2nd string QB in Denver. Im not sure Matt is the answer but I dont know I havent seen enough of him to tell you but I know Anderson isnt and I have seen a large enough sample to know, that my only problem with this. That being said I dont think we make the playoffs this year either way we just lost to much. I just dont like going into the season with Anderson and two rookies which looks like what is going to happen and given our offensive line expect to see the rookies play.

I have no crystal ball, I can only go by what ive seen in preseason. Even if we are to say Matt is ultra conservative, which is his biggest knack, it means for the most part he'll keep the ball out of the defenses hands.

Ive seen Anderson play. Dude is wild...and not in a good way. Many of his incompletions were either way off target, picked or a dropped pick. I sat there during game 1 and saw it unfold. To me, he learned nothing from his Cleveland days.

How about bringing in Quarterback C. I hear he's available.
Quarterback C

Experience: 4 years
Draft Round: 7th Round
Record as a Starter: 2-1
QB Rating: 95.2
Completion %: 57.1
Total Attempts: 164
Total Yard: 1105

His actual up to date stats:

Experience: 8 years
Draft Round: 7th Round
Record as a Starter: 5-13 (includes one year when he went 1-8)
QB Rating: 81.9
Completion %: 60.5
Total Attempts: 714
Total Yard: 4853

Before anyone tries to bonk me over the head for listing QB C I was being a bit sarcastic.
:sarcasm:

My point is QB Bs stats aren't good as of now, but given the opportunity I believe he was going to have a great year as starter.

This is where we agree. Im not of the camp that says we are going far with Leinart, just that Anderson is an accident waiting to happen

Saying Leinart is accurate and can manage a game is completely speculative as he's never really done that professionally.

Saying Leinart doesn't have "it" is completely speculative at this point too as he hasn't had a great deal of playing time to prove it.

Leinart is likely done here, I can deal with that, but it is wrong to say he is too soft because he broke his collarbone (no amount of working out is going to prevent a freak accident like that) or had plenty of chances to win the starting job (name me a ten QBs in the NFL that would have beaten out Warner the past 2 seasons).

At this point you are just spewing hatred toward a player you never liked from the beginning almost as if you were praying for him to fail.

You don't think there's a reason the locker room is almost entirely against Leinart? I'll trust the opinion of 52 defending NFC West Champions and it's coaching staff over 60,000 drunk bitter Cleveland fans.

I don't accuse people of hating Leinart until they show that they have a negative personal opinion of him.
I think Leinart is a douche, but I've cheered for bigger ones countless times in my life if they could play. I have a negative opinion of the guy because Matt Leinart sucks at football.

yeah, for two minutes until he can't get a first down and then gives the ball up, whereas DA will probably get a couple of first downs, then throw a horrendous pick... probably putting the other team's offense on the field around the same place as Matt's 3 and Out and a punt would have.

Anyone can feel free to go back and see some of my posts on Leinart. I was firmly in his camp until he again failed to live up to his responsibilities as QB and team leader this offseason and crapped the bed during the preseason.

Leinart's had plenty of chances.

QB Rating: 72.1
Completion %: 57.7

My guess would be Quarterback A is Hitler, and Quarterback B is Mussolini.
