I agree that this would be sub-optimal. What would you do if we can't swing a trade?
At this point there isn’t another option due to the stupidity of the previous coaching regime that was fired after benching their only hope of winning games. This stupid decision also nuked any leverage the FO might have in being able to trade K1. Teams simply have to wait it out for him to be cut and K1 can tell the team he won’t go certain places to nix any unwanted destinations.

The Cards can’t keep him at this point how do you sell that to the fan base given what has been done?

‘Don’t worry guys we royally f’d up multiple times with our star QB but he is good now and we’re keeping him.’

Total cluster

OMFG like 1/3 of Burkhardts clients are Cardinals. This is literally how you divide a locker room

Your examples are hilarious.

Andy Dalton was 32 years old and cut days after they drafted Joe Burrow!
The ghost of Cam Newton was 30, in the last year of his contract, and injured.
Derek Carr had a no trade clause and refused to be traded- Raiders cap hit was $5M

Cutting 28 year old starting QB with a $50M cap hit in a scarce QB market makes zero sense.
It would be a typical Cardinal move

He's proven there's no hope with Kyler. He's not only shown no improvement he's regressed over the last 4 years.

While it's a poor market cutting Kyler saves a bunch of future guarantees. When you have lost all hope in your QB that makes sense. When you have a new offensive HC and you don't want the Org to be tainted by the defeatist body language and lack of leadership then it's best to move on. WHy would you lumber your HC with that toxicity?

The Org have obviously had enough of him. The majority of fans have had enough of him. If the league don't see anything in him worth trading for with that deal then you just move on. There's no point keeping him around.

And the only person to blame is Kyler.

I see two possibilities with Kyler:
1. Traded to Jets for 3rd or 4th round pick with the Cardinals paying the $20 million roster bonus..
2. Outright release before March 16

Jets would make the trade because if Kyler is a free agent he isn't choosing the Jets.

Does Murray have a no trade clause in his contract?
He doesn’t need one.

His agent simply has to say he won’t go play for that team prior to the deal happening. The other team isn’t going to accept anything where a star QB says they won’t go there.

K1 holds the Cards in the scenario created by these boneheads. There is a deadline to this it’s not like the Cards can play chicken indefinitely .

If it weren't for next year's money (Gods, did Keim and Bidwill, M. fudge this deal up), and Kyler tried to play that nonsense diva game, I'd just keep him and tell him never to report. Ya benched. Enjoy ya money. Unfortunately, they did fudge up the deal, so...yeah.

Had JG just played K1 he likely would still be a HC even if he didn’t fire BPB. Just amazing there was zero forethought of some of the scenarios that might happen if this all goes south which it did.

So what teams will K1 accept a trade to?
Here is my list
Vikes
Saints
Steelers
Colts

I think that is it. Jets absolutely not, Falcons no because Stefanski is BPBs BFF and K1 knows that and wants no part of that debacle.

He probably would, in a very, very bad way. A 6-11 record with no hope shown at the QB position definitely would have saved his job, although it shouldn't have. Unless you think Kyler was going to carry (for the first time ever) this team to the playoffs or something? Playing Kyler last season would have led to eating more ish in the future. Now we have to hope we can find something better than ish to replace him with.

No one is saying anything about playoffs in this division with JG at the helm. I am simply saying the dude showed numerous times he didn’t know what he was doing.

Allowing Adam’s to walk
Not firing BPB
Benching K1
Melting down after the demercado idiocy

Add in the fact the team looked unprepared most games this season.

JG showed he was way in over his head but some of his errors were just head scratching. I don’t see how we could be in worse shape than we are today.

No coaches really want to come here.
A GM that is clueless
QB issues (This would have been the case either way)
Our division is the toughest I have ever seen in the NFL

We are in a real pickle. I am hoping that MLF is the wonder boy everyone is making him out to be but damn that is a snowballs chance in hell we are banking on. Don’t see how things will change much otherwise.

I don’t think this is fair. MLF profiles as a fine candidate.

This is not the Texans hiring David Culley.
He is a total unproven coach and got the job due to association.

I have zero idea if he will be good, believe me sweet baby Jesus has heard my prayers nightly hoping MLF is great. :Dold

IMO no one is going to trade for Kyler and he will be cut. Some team will then sign him for a reasonable contract. The salary cap has gone up $20 million this year and cutting Murray will not have much of an impact on free agency for them.

So was Sean McVay when he was hired by the Rams. We just don’t have enough information to determine whether he’ll be good.

I think it’s fair to say no prestigious coaches want to come here.
