Prepare for this inept franchise to cut K1.
Can’t wait
Franchises cut bad players all the time. The mistake was his overpaid extension. That's why they would have to cut him.

Like Sam Darnold.Franchises cut bad players all the time. The mistake was his overpaid extension. That's why they would have to cut him.
These people are praying to God that K1 is horrible the rest of his career. Not 28 year old starting QB's.
Say what you want to about him off the field, he is a legitimate starting QB in the NFL that has shown signs of being elite (first 9 weeks of 2021). He isn't elite but some team is going to think they can get him playing more consistently and the league is about reclamation projects right now.
You don't cut those guys and take $50M cap hit...period.
I agree that this would be sub-optimal. What would you do if we can't swing a trade?Prepare for this inept franchise to cut K1.

You are super inflating his ability and value. He's third or fourth tier, a bang average QB. Those do grow on trees. His flash ability has become a thing less and less often, and we aren't talking about a player that's five years in the past here. It would be sub-optimal to cut him, yes. It would be better to cut him than to keep him.Not 28 year old starting QB's.

Nah. Once he gone, he gone. Just so long as he gone. These people are praying to God that K1 is horrible the rest of his career.
It is something to see.

Here comes that coma thing again...it's 2024? Holy crap...I just lost my Medicare!!!People don't have to like him but the facts are the facts - he is talented but inconsistent.
2024 - he was top 11th-13th in Yards, TDs, QB rating, and passer rating. #3 in rushing
So, average, if you don't pull back two years.. Only a moron would call him top tier--I doubt any on the board would dispute that. He's also clearly not a second-tier QB like a Caleb Williams or a Jordan Love. You could put him in tier 3, then, but he also isn't a young up-and-comer. He's also getting worse as he ages--I noticed you using numbers that are two years old. I'd put younger guys on the upswing ahead of him, too. Currently, there are probably 20 league QBs I'd rather have. That ain't good.People don't have to like him but the facts are the facts - he is talented but inconsistent.

Yeah they do. Andy Dalton was cut. Cam Newton was cut. Derek Carr was cut.
I’m not sure I understand what you think the alternative is. I’m sure they’d rather trade him and have some other team take on the entirety of his salary. We’d all prefer that. What if that isn’t available?Your examples are hilarious.
Andy Dalton was 32 years old and cut days after they drafted Joe Burrow!
The ghost of Cam Newton was 30, in the last year of his contract, and injured.
Derek Carr had a no trade clause and refused to be traded- Raiders cap hit was $5M
Cutting 28 year old starting QB with a $50M cap hit in a scarce QB market makes zero sense.
It would be a typical Cardinal move
We’ve already shown how cutting a QB under 30 with a big cap charge isn’t unprecedented.

Do you think Kyler Murray should be the presumptive starting QB for the 2026 Arizona Cardinals? Be a $40 million backup?
Indy missed the playoffs and their coach is on the hot seat. The Giants were still bad.N=1? Daniel Jones?
And then what happened?
Career year with Indy and how is signing a long term deal.
What did you learn?
Unprecidented doesn't mean not stupid.isn’t unprecedented
So if Monti can’t do his job then what?I have been very clear - you can't cut him and take a $54M cap hit.
The dude has value even in his current state - Monti has to do his job.

That’s a different argument than “it’s just not done” though.Unprecidented doesn't mean not stupid.
A few thoughts and questions.I have been very clear - you can't cut him and take a $54M cap hit.
