Loved him before the draft, loved the pick when it was made, and love it even more now as he was the fastest player on either defense. Dude was everywhere.

Hey K9 can I borrow your avatar???? ;)

I'll stick with my belief that preseason games mean squat and it's virtually impossible to use these games as any type of barometer or indication of how a player will do when the bullets are live...
HOWEVER........... you just can't help but get excited about Washington. He looks like the real deal and just a good 'ol fashioned FOOTBALL STUD!!

He was easily the most dominant and fastest football defender on teh field tonight! WAY IMPRESSIVE! Same both early and late in the game.

Yeah it is preseason, but watching it on TV it seemed like every other play in the 2nd half was "tackled by Washington".

Granted, he was not playing against 1st teamers, but I like it.

I'm with ya 82. I've learned my lessons many times over about preseason. No question about his talents & hopefully he will do the same against the #1's when he gets his shot.

Washington showed the athleticism to be a force in the NFL. That is exciting. It remains to be seen if his size will ever create a disadvantage, but if nothing else he will be a great tool for stunt blitzes.

I am glad everyone was pleased with what they saw of him. We need playmaking LB's especially young ones.

I am now actually looking forward to watching the game.

He was in against some ones early on.

I know someone will come in with the wet towel later and say "Blah blah its only one game of preseason" but thats besides the point.

Its called the eyeball test for a reason. Sometimes you'll watch a player and IMMEDIATELY be able to tell you have a player on your hands. It happened for me with Beanie last year and it happened tonight with Washington for me. Its not just his speed, but his awareness of the ball and shedding of blockers too.

He'll make mistakes and hes not going to the Pro Bowl this year. But damn if he wasn't everything and more tonight.

Sounds like he validated under the bright lights what Shane saw in Flag.

Washington doesn't play the same position as Porter. His playing time isn't relative to Porter's

My question is who in the future will be the "REAL DEAL" with youth to match speed with THUMPING power as our other KEY Inside LB?

I think all of us knew Daryl was the real deal watching TCU last season. Now under Lot and an NFL weight lifting and 12 month NFL training schedule and learning our tricky 3-4 defense inside and out he'll be a leader.Speed conquers all.

I'm still beating the same damn drum I was before the draft that went unanswered.Slightly impressed with talent and depth and drafting for CARDINALS.Same two holes remain unfilled and I hope the answer is'nt in next years draft, but right now it looks that way without throwing any of our current dressed out players under the bus.

Has nothing to do with grading out the team after one pre-season game.Last years pre-season was ugly too. Our division will be wide open this season excluding the Rams for at least 2 years.

TheNFL as a whole has added a ton of new studs. We have to keep up.

I was at the game -- I will say that his speed stands out. He runs like a safety

He will need to be protected -- very lean build

Does he still look that way? He sure looked bigger than he did in the TCU bowl game.

We can sure use that speed though as I'm concerned that once again the Cards can't get any pressure on the QB with just 4 guys. Although I would imagine that Dockett and Porter both will turn it up a notch when the games start to count.

Add me to the list. Washington was all over the field and had good football instincts. And he is very quick to the ball. Like what I saw.

Co-sign on the man love.

Watching from the stands, Washington was in on virtually every play. He has tremendous range, speed, and reaction time.

Perhaps one year, he will make the pro bowl (unlike his predecessor) :D
