I like Kyzir. But the man served his purpose.
He came in with knowledge of the defense and lead them on the field until the rest were comfortable with it...and helped instill the drive and hustle the new culture demands.
Normally I would turn my nose at the squad for not showing some loyalty. But he was well compensated coming in.
As a team we cannot allow loyalty to stop us from trying to upgrade talent
Wish the Hump and Beachum lovers could understand this.

Yeah… at this point, with no one else taking a shot, I’m not upset they didn’t bring Kyzhir back… I’m just disappointed they decided replace him with someone cheaper they probably hope will be around the same level he was last year, especially as we keep sitting on 25 million bucks in cap room (or maybe more… don’t remember exactly what the number is).

I wish you would understand availability of talent is not the same at ILB and OT

AND

The difference between signing players to start and signing players to be a back-ups
Oh Jeesh this guy again.. Hump was way overrated by finds and Beachum is cooked. I wish you’d just lay this to rest. I understand your fandom feels differently and this is fine. My goodness.

Yeah, this guy tried to argue my point. Asked you to do the same. You didn't and then just explained the lack of your argumentation with everyone being fanboys. So... Still here until you can actually argue a substantiated point.

You never provide substance.. again your stat on Beach was 4 sacks in 14 games.. and then followed paid $4mm by cards.. salaries and signings increase each year as the cap increases, as league revenue increases.

You are not a substance guy as others have pointed out in debating you.

1. I have given his pff rating.
2. I have given sacks and referenced to pressures and hurries.
3. I have given his correct salary, which was double of what you claimed.
4. I have at length tried to explain the lack of talent at OT
5. I have explained that basicly no one gets Bechum's salary in the League, because there are only starters and bums at OT
6. I have asked you to name 10 better swing OTs in the league.

You best argument so far is: "Because I said so!"

Great Substance!

yup. Beach is a good swing tackle.
Not a great starter..one hopes he only has to finish a game here or there and not start half the season. But even as a starter a team can win games.

I’m hoping that he was only signed for insurance for Williams and not as swing. Christian Jones looked very good in his one start, but going against 49ers back-ups. I hope he can secure the 3rd spot before end of the season

Based on this I assume you couldn’t find 10 better back-up tackles

Can't imagine the naming honor has a single thing to do with football. So yeah, I agree.

Ageed, the naming thing is how much they think about him as a person. And even with all that in the credit column, they still don't think he's worth bringing back as a player.

White stormed out of his end of season meeting and messaged on social media that he was gone. (That's how it was taken by everyone.) The end of season meeting is about on the field stuff it isn't where you discuss a contract. It's pretty obvious to me they had decided at that point that he had not been good enough, will not get better, and it was best for the team to move on.

But unless he or the team ever talks about it, we will never know for sure. Personally, as I said long ago, I am fine with it as he was really part of the issues our defense had. He just wasn't as good last season as he was the year before. That's what I saw.
Hadn’t heard this. Interesting.

Some people look at it as all or nothing--either a backup is perfect or he's a bum. That's not the way backups work.
Yep lots of backups have warts that's why they don't start, but if they can come in and play in a pinch and not totally wreck your game plan, then they can be useful.

My rock bottom will always be D'Anthony Baptiste who was the single worst OT I've ever seen. Beachum is a 1000x better than that guy and Baptiste was actually a starter that the Whisenhunt regime tried to say was going to be a good player.

Wasn’t there a year where Baptiste was “forced” into starting from the get go and in the first play/first snap in Pre-Season, he literally got steamrolled flat on his back in as ugly fashion as humanly possible? Might have been the first play of the season, but one of those two scenarios is burned in my brain and instantly told me that season was over.
