Or maybe we're just defining top tier differently. A lot on this board are falling prey to the woe is me syndrome that unqualified media personalities are pushing through made up rumors.
That's possible but we do know what hasn't worked. I don't think based on this franchise's history fans need to depend on media personalities to know that this team's track record (approach) has not worked.

Exactly! The facts are there were only 3 candidates this cycle you can positively say have had a decent amount of success: Harbaugh, McCarthy and McDermott. Any others who have had any modicum of success also have way more failures to balance that out. The rest are unproven commodities that may, or may not, be worth taking a chance on.
Stefanski is a losing coach who showed he couldn’t pull them out of the dregs in Cleveland. Also obviously a terrible person to boot based on this:

Bruh, if Vance is our next HC, I might pull a Mitch and be totally out.

I'd would seriously have rolled with Kyler and Gannon another year before Vance.
I still haven’t understood it, so I need to ask if someone can please explain to me why most on this board behave like hiring Joseph would be the ultimate embarrassment and proof of minimal ambitions (I am not calling you out specifically, DCR)?

Is it because he coordinated a killer defense several years in a row?

Or because he led four players to All-Pro honor this year as opposed to just three last year?

Maybe it’s because he is pretty much exclusively responsible for developing stars like Zach Allen, Nik Bonitto, Jonathon Cooper, as well as a ton of other quality players.

Is it that he doesn’t have connections to more interesting potential OC’s than the two proclaimed “new Sean McVay”’s, Davis Webb and Declan Doyle?

Maybe people are blaming Joseph for Kingsbury’s offenses collapsing every season?

Or maybe you don’t like to hear how all Rams’ defensive coaches highlight Joseph’s defenses as the hardest to play against?

Could be that fans would only excuse his HC-tenure if he had worse quarterbacks than Case Keenum and Trevor Siemian?

It’s not like Vance Joseph has ever been my favorite candidate, but I really don’t understand why fans are that negative toward him.

Having said that, in that video, reporter Ari Meirov talks about how he doesn’t see the Cards going with Joseph. Instead, he could see them signing Raheem Morris or Mike LaFleur.

Simple. He's like Gannon/Rallis who relied on insanely good defensive rosters. When he doesn't have insanely good defensive rosters, he sucks. What did he do here? Same thing he did in Denver: let the talent dictate how the defense does. In Denver, great talent = great D. In Arizona, average talent (although he failed to develop Allen in time for us) = awful D. When he actually had to come up with answers coaching rather than relying on a bunch of Big Johns, he sucked out loud. If I have to deal with his "Please don't hurt me and have 15 yard chunk plays" D again, I'll claw my eyes out.

Campanile is #22 on Ringer's top 30 HC Candidates

You must be registered for see images attach
4-3 defense -- which will have some serious implications for the personnel the team has today

probably good for Darius Robinson to be moved to end. Zaven probably becomes a true SOLB. Mac Wilson a WLB. I guess Simon in the middle. All those feel like more natural positions for them

You don't cowtow to your worst players; you get better players. IDGAF what system suits the Zaven Collinses and Darius Robinsons of the world. They stink.

This comes across oddly. He was just stating how the current players would fit into the 4-3 scheme this guys seems to run...not advocating for the hire because it would benefit these players.
