Where did you see this as I just looked at their newspaper website which stated that they are going to first interview him on Sunday. He is only doing zoom interviews as the 49ers are still in the playoffs.
It was a poorly written post. Re-reading it, it said, they are down to the final 2 of the first round and eliminated candidates have been notified. Round 2 starts on Monday.

State media Mouth of Sauron alert.
Loser mentality. You improve your team whenever you can. I agree not adding a player for 6-8 games. But if you can add a player that will be around for the next couple of years, you do it.

Hire Vance as HC and bring in Kliffy as OC. I mean, if you're going to Cardinal the situation by hiring Vance, hiring Kliffy as his #2 is about as Cardinal as you can get.
Ooooo how about we sign Charlie Weis Jr as HC and draft Chambliss (sound familiar) and go full Cardinal!

Never, ever go full Cardinal!!

Finally! The first real actual good interviews.
Why is it good? Because he spent 2 years with the Rams? He doesn't call the plays, McVay does. Prior to the Rams he spent 2 years as the Jets OC where their offense was bottom of the league both seasons.

Just curious what makes him an exciting candidate.

Funny thing is Lafleur was actually fired by Saleh when they were with the Jets.

Mostly he's not dumb retreads like Saleh and Arthur Smith. I mean, gimme a break, Arthur Smith would be only slightly better than hiring Cheese to coach the team. Also, he may not call the plays, but he has been brought up in the system and taught by one of the best in the business. That can wash some stink off an OC stint.
