He does. Just because he didn't do what YOU want doesn't mean it's not the right course of action. Many of us are good with the Book semi-rebuild.

I believe rebuilding around a some time All-Star, while having next to no tradeable assets or draft picks is a recipe for prolonged disaster. Could I be wrong? Sure. I agree it's premature. We won't know for sure for a couple years anyway. I feel like it's a good start though (and you don't and that's fine). We've injected quite a bit of youth, athleticism, and grit. Time will tell.

What other choices does he have when we don't own our first round picks? Unless Book is traded to Houston for the return of our picks, being bad doesn't really benefit us. Getting late firsts from another contending team doesn't help either unless they happen to hold firsts from other bad teams.

I’m not advocating trading Book to tank. This team is likely going to be awful even with Book. So what is the point of keeping him?

We can be bad with Book and no picks/possible young talent. Or we can be bad without Book and some picks or young players in trade.

Neither plan has a lot of hope but guve me the plan with some picks/possible young talent over no picks/possibility of young talent.

Getting late firsts from another contending team doesn't help either unless they happen to hold firsts from other bad teams.

who says we have to deal him to a contender? We now own his rights for at least four years. Deal him to the highest bidder, try and get young talent and or picks and try to at least accomplish something for the future.

And who says we have to trade him for picks in the next three years when we’re still swapped to death. A good GM finds picks down the line for a team that might be good immediately but could fall off a cliff after a period of time.

Good question. Result wise I am not sure, but it turned out Sarver is in fact a turd in addition to a tight wad (remember the old lady said he squeaks when he walks)

Pre cp3, Books running mates were trash.
The year just before cp3, Bridges and Ayton had 1 year experience and Cam Johnson and Jerome were rookies.
Oubre and Payne were energy guys who are still in the league.
The rest of the roster is long gone to retirement.

Go back a little further and the rosters were even worse.

I think Oubre injected some of the right stuff. Did we have Rubio then? Or did he play before or after? I think he had a good influence in addition to Bridges' good spirit.
