It's like a wart. You just have to stay patient. No offence, Brad, I'm only talking about an oft-injured player on a huge contract with an ntc. I blame Ish.

somebody stop me - i thought we were stuck in ish-stan-bull but now thy cup appeareth half full - i thought this season was going to be like the last season of shameless - pointless and aimless but they went and got new writers and a new cast - im looking forward to watching

if you're not serving wins in the nba you better have something cooking - better be good too and worth the wait because a lot of fans won't - while this may be a very interesting menu to us - others will only see a lot of losses

in the end all ish could do was correct the ship - and ish got scary when he fired the captain - mechanics and crew - when he decided to do the welding and repairs himself - while still out at sea - i was putting my life vest on

but metaphorically speaking...

this is some good ish

Yeah. We know. We are the Nets when Ainge traded Garnett to them. You cannot just buy a championship team. You have to build it carefully. The last moves in building a championship team are the hardest.

Since Ishbia's mortgage company is so large, I wonder if the Suns could somehow cause a housing market crisis.

The fate of the US populace rests on Ishbia learning from his mistakes in the NBA.
He's a smart guy and he knows BBALL. He went all in on KD. Tough lesson. Will cost him for a decade.

he does? Holding on to Book and thinking they don't need a full rebuild doesn't give me that much hope he knows how to course correct... correctly.
He does. Just because he didn't do what YOU want doesn't mean it's not the right course of action. Many of us are good with the Book semi-rebuild.

Pretty declaratory statement, with not much fact to back it up as of yet.

Right… so to YOU he’s course correcting. To ME he’s continuing to be an idiot. I believe rebuilding around a some time All-Star, while having next to no tradeable assets or draft picks is a recipe for prolonged disaster. Could I be wrong? Sure. So could you… so to say Ishbia has definitively course corrected in a positive way feels really premature.

I agree it's premature. We won't know for sure for a couple years anyway. I feel like it's a good start though (and you don't and that's fine). We've injected quite a bit of youth, athleticism, and grit. Time will tell.

Especially, if this team builds around the idea Book is a full time PG.

What other choices does he have when we don't own our first round picks? Unless Book is traded to Houston for the return of our picks, being bad doesn't really benefit us. Getting late firsts from another contending team doesn't help either unless they happen to hold firsts from other bad teams.

I’m not advocating trading Book to tank. This team is likely going to be awful even with Book. So what is the point of keeping him?

We can be bad with Book and no picks/possible young talent. Or we can be bad without Book and some picks or young players in trade.

Neither plan has a lot of hope but guve me the plan with some picks/possible young talent over no picks/possibility of young talent.

Getting late firsts from another contending team doesn't help either unless they happen to hold firsts from other bad teams.

who says we have to deal him to a contender? We now own his rights for at least four years. Deal him to the highest bidder, try and get young talent and or picks and try to at least accomplish something for the future.

And who says we have to trade him for picks in the next three years when we’re still swapped to death. A good GM finds picks down the line for a team that might be good immediately but could fall off a cliff after a period of time.

Thats why I was calling for them to trade Book to Houston for our picks back or San Antonio which had elite picks/young assets.

Unfortunately, people seem to be having selective memory about our past teams that were built around Booker (in other words, pre CP3). Point Booker or just Regular Booker, those teams weren't very good.

I don't expect this version to be any better. We do really need to move on and get whatever haul we could in a trade for him and then use that to reset as much as we can for the future.

I expect the Suns will be forced to come to that same conclusion within the next year or two. Hopefully, it will be before the potential returns start to diminish too much and we're forced to take a Durant type deal for him, too.

better than the sarver days though right?

right?
Good question. Result wise I am not sure, but it turned out Sarver is in fact a turd in addition to a tight wad (remember the old lady said he squeaks when he walks)

:biglaugh:

So he had to go.

Pre cp3, Books running mates were trash.
The year just before cp3, Bridges and Ayton had 1 year experience and Cam Johnson and Jerome were rookies.
Oubre and Payne were energy guys who are still in the league.
The rest of the roster is long gone to retirement.

Go back a little further and the rosters were even worse.

Refresh my memory before and after Rubio? Book played mostly off the ball, right? When was the first real Point Book experiment?

I think Oubre injected some of the right stuff. Did we have Rubio then? Or did he play before or after? I think he had a good influence in addition to Bridges' good spirit.
